I've been visiting this glorious hotel since 1965 and have never been disappointed. Once again it continues to surprise me in the excellence of it's survice and the quality of every dining experience. Of course my favorite is always Crepes on the Beach at sunset, but breakfast, lunch or dinner are well worth the fare. The rooms are spacious, though certainly expensive, but when you're in Cannes, everything is. The little fish shacks on the beach now charge $500 for dinner, per person so what can be done. The Russians have shaken upt he game here and I don't mean just in the Casino. The beach alone is worth another trip. I'll be back again.

Cannes Lions opening & closing 2012 Galas took place @ the Carlton Beach ...The area is huge! A great spot if not the best beach spot in Cannes! A must do/visit!! (You must either be an in-house guest, have an invitation or be escorted by 3x top models....Otherwise don't bother trying to get in!)

Thank Elyes B

We have used the Carlton the last few years during the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. The service there is amazing. All of the staff are very friendly, helpful and approachable. When problems arise, they work to fix them quickly. Our group that stayed there loves the location- central on the Croisette and of course enjoys the Carlton Patio in the evenings for drinks and socializing. The suites are amazing and have a beautiful view of the Mediterranean from the front patios. The only small issue we had was that with the heat the air conditioning often couldn't keep up and it was slightly warm in the rooms. The lobby is warm as well since there is no AC running. Fans could potentially alleviate some of the heat, but I'm not sure they really go with the beautiful decor.
All in all a wonderful place to stay with great staff and beautiful rooms. There is no question why this is such a highly regarded hotel in Cannes and the place that people want to be.

Room Tip: The 7th floor suites are amazing.

Very nice beach, like all of Cannes, sunbeds lined like soldiers, and within touching distance of next person, but they do have nice little wind breakers to divide people which is good, used the beach for 3 days in a row, 32 euros a day each person, which again is OK for Cannes, but would expect better service, and would expect to at least maybe get closer to the sea at least on one visit, but being Cannes, you need to tip big, or be a regular to get best positions, even if you are a hotel guest! same goes for beach restaurant, people from outside, get same as hotel guest in way of bookings, which I don't feel is right, an hotel guest should at least get preferential chance of booking then an outsider, but don,t work that way here. never got chance to taste food, one day we did book, when we arrived at our booked time told sorry full come back in an hour, so from then on everyday we just went to one of the numerous restaurants available outside beach, which is a bit of a pain to get up and dress to go for a lunch! So if going be ready to tip big that way you might get a reasonable service, if service does not bother you, this is a good beach to visit.
and also one would expect showers to be available, but no!

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, in a deluxe room, price quoted for this room is 1150 euros per night, although room is a fair size, its very bland, with all walls painted Cream and cupboards all painted cream to match, very dated indeed. bathroom is Average at best.
Hotel lacks any warmth or any welcoming factor, Location is fantastic, exterior of building is magnificent, but inside is bit of a let down, this could be overcome if it there was more of a personal touch, but this don't happen only interested in ££££s Having stayed in many of the leading hotels in the world, I fail to see why they feel they need to charge 29.50 Euros, to clean 1 Shirt, and if that is not bad enough, it takes all day too, and only if you hand it in before 9am otherwise you don't get it till next day!! charge by all means but give a service please. they offer a pillow menu, but that took me all day till 11pm to get a pillow, and then it was wrong one!
the beach opposite is very good, but at 32 Euros each bed, it should be better. we booked beach restaurant, for 2pm, when we arrived at 10am only to be told when arrived at 2 pm, sorry fully booked can we come back in an hour, we stayed at our sunbeds, and ask to just get something to eat there, even hamburger and chips will do, but this is not allowed, you can have hot food, but only thing is a Panini at 25 euros, but you cant pay extra and have french fries with it, that's not allowed! even though they are served 10 meters away in the restaurant> this is what really lets this hotel down, the short sighted vision, I have no problem paying whatever the rate, its my choice if I purchase, but would expect if paying to get some sort of service to go with the prices. a Landmark hotel such this is supposed to be, should at least try to assist, in what really is nothing difficult, but for some reason they think they know best and have the attitude to match. I hear this hotel is just been purchased, I hope the new owners, decide to add a little more panache to what could and should be the best hotel in Cannes, but a way to go, to make that.

Having said that, it is a very nice hotel, and as already stated perfect location, just needs that something extra, to be what it should be.

Room Tip: Pay for it!
