“Every time I come to Cannes, I have to stop by here”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

The kind of gems that it is great to find on here.
I might have thought it was a cute brasserie walking by, but the food is so much more.
I now always go at least 2 or 3 times vert time I visit Cannes.
Great mix of French classics with some subtle Asian influence in the way the chef prepares vegetable, with an emphasis on freshness and lightness.
The kind of place where you can have rognons one day and a delicious vegetarian plate the next day.
The owner is in the kitchen and it cooks pretty much everything form A to Z. And she must love desserts cause those are good. Save some room for the end. At least for a café gourmand.

“A nice evening "dans la rue"”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We had a very nice dinner and evening at La Meissouniere. The service was very good, polite but with an edge and a sence of humor. For starters we had Bourgogne Snails & Marrow bones on Poilâne toast. The snails were perfectly cooked and therefore very soft and delicious. The marrow bones was a very nice and big portion. We found both were a bit under-seasoned, but I guess that is a matter of taste. For main course we had Beef Thaï salad & Butcher’s beef cut with green pepercorn sauce. Again the dishes were well executed. The steak was rare as I asked for and a very good cut. It came with grilled fennel, fried potatoes, celery mash (I think) and an eggplant mash-ish thing. I would have been fine with two things less on the plate, but it was good. The thai beef salad was very good. We finish with an excellent house recommended cognac.

“Love this place”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

It's off the beaten path but eating here will be well worth your while. Claire, the owner and her staff make you feel at home and offer unbelievable down home, high end cuisine. Her Salmon Tartar is better than any in the area and the rib eye for two with bone morrow is an unreal experience. It's a quaint restaurant but you won't feel confined as you might in other restaurants closer to the beach. Tell her Peter from US sent you!

“THE ultimate lunch break in Cannes”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We had nice, delicious and quick -but not rushed- lunch. Beautiful carpaccio, delicious Magret de canard, perfectly cooked...and an awesome Chou Chantilly for desert ...still mouth watering when typing this review....It was hard to choose from the delicately selected dishes....Thanks Chef.

“very nice food, poor service”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

The food was great. Nothing really fancy just good food. Salmon pasta - perfect pasta, generous quantity of salmon - very simple dish perfect. Beef stir-fry - good quality ingredient, perfectly cooked. Fish - fresh and well cooked. Good price.

Service, hmm ... first visit waiter avoided eye contact all the time which I find off-putting. Second visit he tried to avoid serving most of the restaurant in favour of a large party of americans.

Food quality rescued the experience so will be back.
