A bus and a long uphill (then all the way back down to Cannes) walk, ending with a fabulous view of Cannes and the Bay and some beautiful gardens. BUT the Villa was a HUGE disappointment! Where the entrance and rooms had great bay views, someone had covered them up with black boxes and mediocre art. The grand room (artist's studio), with its fabulous chandeliers and views and staircase, was entirely hidden with boxes and separations for unmemorable art...and the rest of the villa was corded off - the salons upstairs, the kitchen/dining areas, etc. I would have much preferred seeing the villa (restored or not), with original furnishings and art...or some suitable sculptures and paintings, but alas instead someone filled the 2 open rooms with art unplaced at other museums (2nd rate) and covered up what were once breathtaking views. Quel dommage!!
I was the ONLY person there for an hour, and I know why. Wait til next year.
PS. Even with my press pass I was forbidden to take photos, but don't let the views fool you. This attraction is only half-baked.
