“Wow”
Reviewed 15 August 2014 via mobile

You cannot visit cannes without getting a staged photograph of yourself on the centres red carpet.

Every A list to date has graced this carpet at some time in their career.

Hosting Cannes film festival each year means a flurry of A Listers.

I've been lucky enough to be within spitting distance of Cara Delavigne, Leo diCaprio, Steven Spielberg, Nicole Kidman and many more.

Currently has construction work going on so it's a bit noisy and messy. Lots of food carts around enabling a reasonable priced drink and a great view of the beach

“Check for construction work going on outside”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

If you are in Cannes and like the movies, you cannot not go to the Palais des Festivals. All others should stay clear - this is nothing but a convention hall / conference site (albeit with a red carpet on the steps) where business is conducted. For film lovers, however, this mecca of film festivals is replete with symbolism, as are the mementoes of movie stars outside in the form of their palm prints, etc. Note, however, that some major construction activity has been going on around the Palais for more than a year now, and much of the outside public areas are fenced off, including the main entrance steps where the stars pose for pictures on the red carpet. If this is your main destination in Cannes, you may want to check when the construction work will be over.

“Just symbolic”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

The whole building walls were covered in work-in-progress cripples, so very little could be seen. The entrance with the red carpet is nice to see but honestly nothing special.

“Pose and pretend you're a star!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 via mobile

Worth a visit just to pose on the red carpeted stairs where all the stars stop for the paparazzi to take photos. Also worth looking at the handprints set in the pavement around the building. Sylvester Stallone has the biggest hand I've ever seen!

“Nothing great if you are visiting off season”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Location
Around 10-15 minutes walk from the railway station, clear to the port.

There's nothing much in here, especially if you are visiting off season (not doing the Cannes Film Festival). There are lot of restaurants opposite to this place and a flee market.
