We came to Cannes for a friends wedding otherwise we would not come to this place but what a pleasant surprise that was. For 100 euros in August in French Rivera you have very practical suite with separate bath and shower and separate toilet too. On top of it you have microwave, fridge and a kettle. I did not find the room as big as other reviewers did. It was just average size room with fitted facilities and the curtain splitting the room.
Double bed is comfortable with the choice of cushions. You can watch the TV while having a bath.
The bus from the airport (56 euros for three) brings you to the hotel de ville which is 15 min walk to the hotel.
It is really well kept, fresh, modern and clean.
The decor is a bit like a hospital, very scando and no pictures. Painfully essential but you have what you need incl safe.
There is a very good hairdresser opposite the hotel who did my wedding hair do in style worth the film festival.
As the train station is so close, you can use it as a base to go anywhere on the French Rivera.
We were pleasantly surprised.
Common areas are not particularly impressive and reception staff is always busy.
The minus of the place is a lift - allow 15 min to get out of your high floor before noon. Each arriving lift will be full of people with their luggage so you won't get on it until third attempt.
They do housekeeping about 2-3 pm so you can sleep long without being disturbed but don't come back before. This is because the housekeeping trolley cannot get on the tiny lift when people use it in a AM peak times.
Elite members are only offered non alcoholic drink for their voucher, which I found unusual for Accor but it was our first time in Novotel Suite.
Cannes will last you for 2 days. Despite the show off, there is pleasant old part worth visiting and decent shopping options but it is not as good as you would expect. Beaches are sandy but two small stretches on the edges are public. The test is private with 60 euro entrance fee. The ones belonging to the hotels are not free even for the guests.
Overall it is worth returning to this Novotel for the value for money and cleanliness.
