Wow - I had stayed in Eze before (Chateau Eza) but this Hotel is better - it is simply great. Fab gardens, terraces, pool etc. Because it was off-season we had an upgrade to sea-view with balcony (Rm 34). Hard to fault. This room and the helpful hotel staff made our stay wonderful. (Did not eat at main restaurant 2 Michelin Star). Weather helps :)

So I was reminded of this hotel as I looked through my photographs from the holiday that my husband and I took in the South of France last year, during the height of the season. I had wanted to hold off on my review, because I thought that my memory of the dreadful experience that we had might have tempered over time, but in fact this isn't so, unfortunately. So here we go. The only good things that we recall from this hotel were the staff, excluding the manager, and the concierge service. Now for the bad. We were in a so-called Deluxe Room with a view of the sea. The room was in desperate need of refurbishment and had a seventies style bathroom with plumbing to match. The jacuzzi style bath, in which we were expected to shower, got blocked each and every time, so that we ended up showering knee deep in water. They provided single ply loo roll in the loo and I think the final insult was the disgusting, smelly cut price in candle in our room and the equally dreadful soaps and shampoos in the bathroom. We complained about the plumbing and loo roll but apparently nothing could be done, double ply loo roll appeared for a day or so and then promptly disappeared. In addition, our room was apparently next to the store room of the luxury apparently Michelin starred restaurant and we experienced staff clunking about in there, all night long, making a huge racket. Breakfast in the morning, which was not included in the price, was reminiscent of a BA club class lounge. No more need be said. Only Felix the cat made it bearable. We struggled to get into any of the restaurants but the one we did get into looked like the setting of a '70's porn film, please don't ask me how I know this, but safe to say the food was dreadful rubbish. I reserve my final contempt for the manager. He appeared to just sit in his little cubicle all day long, only occasionally waddling out to survey the train wreck that he was overseeing, completely oblivious to our misery. Finally, the semi public areas of this hotel were awash with cut price tourists and worse. It was a horrible experience venturing out. I am astounded by the rave reviews I have read on this page today, i can only assume radical steps were taken since we stayed there as our experience was so very different and so very, very disappointing.

It was such a beautiful place to be. The place is immaculate, the garden is neatly trimmed. The room was amazing; we had a big bath in the cave in our room as well as a mini patio and the view of the Mediterranean sea - it does not get much more romantic! Even though we only spent 1 night there, we wished we had stayed longer!

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was good but not amazing. Breakfast, however, was scrumptious.

This is definitely one of the best hotel I have ever been to.

We spent 4 days at this amazing Relais Chateaux Hotel in Eze France. Two other couples joined us to celebrate my wife's birthday. The ancient village perched on the hill with breath taking views is something very special, great dinner in a world class restaurant which is part of the hotel also with views that you feel you can see Africa. Spoil yourself, a stay to remember.

Room Tip: Don't regret not spending a night or two in this hotel and Eze, a very special village.

We stopped here for an afternoon lunch and cocktail on their patio overlooking the ocean. Bring binoculars to view the various yachts floating in the harbor below. The grounds are beautiful, the service was wonderful without being invasive, and the views are spectacular. It's a must for anyone who wants to treat themselves to something very special, as it reflects in the bill too.

My husband and I stayed at the Chevre d'Or at the end of September this year ~ a special property that had been on my bucket list for years. When we checked in, everyone was lovely and friendly, and to our delight, we were upgraded to a tiny stone villa at the edge of the cliff with a private rooftop terrace. It was a two room suite, with a white baby grand piano in the living area (!), elegant furnishings, large windows overlooking St. Jean Cap Ferrat and the sea. The spacious bathroom was entirely marble with gold fixtures. Absolutely perfect for a romantic interlude, with breathtaking gardens and amazing sculptures. It was, without reservation, our favorite hotel of all time! Treat yourself to this magnificent property ~ although it is very pricey, it is worth every penny. (They do have specials!)

Room Tip: I doubt if there is an unsatisfactory room in the entire chateau.
