The site is magnificent, and in the 35 years we've gone there it continues to improve. The management are helpful, and the staff are friendly. Here are some thoughts we've had: (a) you don't need a private balcony - there are so many nooks and crannies all over the property to hide away (except for private activities?) (b) the main restaurant (the Chevre d'Or) is expensive, but worth it. Most $$$+ restaurants trade on view, service theater, chef's reputation - anything but food and wine. The C d'Or has all this, but the food is first rate and there are actually excellent bargains at less than E100 on the list if you know your Rhones and second-label Bordeaux. There ARE cheaper (and excellent) restaurants in Eze, but the Chevre d'Or is something special. Try for the corner table.

I had my car broken into twice in two days in the car park here.
It happens all the time.
Beware!

Although the prices were steep, this splurge was well worth the trouble if you are looking for a beautiful, romantic, and serene honeymoon location. We did not stay here for our entire honeymoon, but spent 3 days here before driving around the Provence countryside. After the whirlewind of wedding planning, details, and events, this was the perfect location to unwind. The setting is like it is out of a fairy tale., the service was impeccable, and the food to die for.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband as part of our honeymoon. We stayed in a deluxe room which was above the the Terrace restaurant (it was not noisy because that restaurant closes early. We had a small balcony with a small table and chairs and a deckchair, which looks out onto the sea, stunning.....and the golden goat!
and to the left is the Chevre d'or restaurant.
Staff - Very friendly and helpful
Grounds - Gorgeous, there are large gardens which are for guest use only, which is great because the little town gets so busy during the day. So green and there were animal statues, it was like being in Narnia! So quiet and peaceful.
Room - good size with king size bed and living area, very luxurious
Bathroom - huge, nearly as big as the bedroom, beautiful
Breakfast - is served on your balcony, at a pre-arranged time, croissants, assorted jams, fruits, juice, very nice
We stayed just 2 nights because it is very expensive, we had a wonderful, romantic stay, I'm glad we did it, although I wouldn't stay again, only because of the price, but if you can afford it then why not.
While in Eze we ate at Chevre d'or and Le Troubadour, separate reviews written, both highly recommended.
Also, if you book a cab for a certain time, make sure you are ready. The cab will charge you waiting time. We kept our cabbie waiting about 10min coz my husband didn't set the alarm properly, and it cost us 115euro to Nice airport. Maybe they booked us a limo instead of a taxi!??????

The setting and facilites of the hotel are magnificent - Mediterranean view, swimming pools, gardens, gym; all show great taste in their development. Food is good as might be expected from the Michelin star rating although our stay was at the end of the season and restaurant availability was limited as staff were starting on leave. However, the Cafe Gascogne in the Place de Verdun was as good as its review in teh Guardian promised and affordable. By contrast, the Chateau can only be enjoyed if you have so much money that you do not count the cost. Aalthough the WiFi (only available in the bar). the gym and the pools are not extras, everything else is - e.g. monring coffee is room service as there are no facilities in the room. I would recommend this hotel to the very wealthy.
