My girlfriend and I spent four nights with Fred and Sylviane and they were so kind and helpful it really made our French trip. The house was spectacular and we made good use of the pool, the breakfast was probably our highlight of the day (Fred does the perfect egg!),and the location was ideal for a visit to Eze and further exploring along the coast. I cannot recommend this place enough, and Fred and Sylviane will provide any advice needed when deciding plans/places to eat etc.

We spent 2 nights here in the yucca room.

Wonderful hosts, relaxing and comfortable rooms and great facilities.

I would recommend to couples wanting a relaxing break or a good vase for exploring the area. We went to eze village itself and to Monaco and Monte Carlo did an evening. Nice is also very reachable by car.

we only spent one night at "Bastide aux Camelias" but it was worth it. everything is gorgeous about this B&B including the structure of the Villa, the hosts, the pool, the location, etc.

I would recommand it for everyone.

We spent 4 days in this fantastic place in August 2013. We were in the very nice Yucca room, with a private terrace. The place is run by a very nice couple, very friendly always willing to help and give advices about the area.
The village is fantastic, the road up there has a breathtaking view.
Very well located, from there it is very easy to explore the area, Monaco, Nice,...
Breakfast is great; fresh fruits, fresh orange juice, very good French bread.
However a car is needed.
Would recommend without any hesitation.

Recently spent 3 nights at this B and B. Owners Fred and Sylvana were exceptional hosts. Facilities were great and much more than we expected from a B and B. Need some serious walking shoes if you are attempting to walk to the village as this place is quite a distance away but not something that would stop me from going back.

Room Tip: Ask for a fan if travelling in summer. The rooms are not air conditioned

Background: My husband and I are avid travels. We take 3-4 trips a year around the world. This is our 4th trip to Europe (10-12 days). I do a huge amount of research before we take a trip and this place was perfect for exploring the French Riviera.

Fred and Sylviane: They are both wonderful. Very warm and welcoming. Ready to help plan the day, provide restaurant recommendations and make sure you have a wonderful stay.

Arrival: The hosts request that you send them an arrival time. We had an estimate of our arrival time, but with a detour along the coast, we were running a bit late. Luckily we arrived before our hosts needed to leave for the night. Just something to note if you don't like to stick to a certain arrival time. Also, use a GPS to find the location. It is a bit confusing with parallel roads. Take a look at the photos from other visitors to have a better understanding of the roads you need to travel on. When we arrived, we expected to see a sign....just to make sure we were in the correct place, but there wasn't anything. I only knew we had found the B&B based on the photos from this site.

There are around 4 parking spots for guests along the side of the road and up the driveway.

Sylviane welcomed us into their home, gave us a grand tour and helped us settle into our room.

Room: We stayed in the Lilas room. The bed slept comfortable and we had a view out over the pool. There was plenty of room to spread out and the bathroom was large. Hot water was plentiful for showers. There is no AC, but the room sleep comfortable. The temps were in the 70's, so I am not sure if it would be warm later in the summer.

Location: This is why we stayed. We had a rental car during our entire trip, so we didn't want to return the car just to spend a few days and then head to the airport. Nice hotels are quite expensive and parking is expensive. It made sense for us to stay at a B&B that was only 20 minutes to all the locations we wanted to visit. Plus, we were able to be flexible with our travels plans.

During our stay, we visited the Rothschild Villa, Eze village, Fragonard factory, Nice, and Monaco. We did have to pay for parking in Monaco, Eze village and Nice. Still, it was worth the price of parking to have a car.

Breakfast: The hosts have a wonderful table outside the house on the porch. From our room, it is a bit of a walk around the outside of the house with stairs. If you have a disability, this B&B might be a bit difficult to navigate.

There were plenty of choices at breakfast. Fresh fruit was provided along with boiled eggs, bread, homemade yogurt, granola and more. Fresh juice was provided in addition to coffee.

The guests of the B&B were all friendly and it made breakfast very pleasant. Guests come from all over the world, so traveling stories are popular.

House: During our stay, we did not use any of the extras provided. A large pool with loungers was prepared for our June stay, but it was a bit cold and thus it was not utilized. They also have a steam room and sauna (you have to let them know 30-45 minutes before use). There is also a hot tub at the back of the property. My husband and I were busy exploring, so we did not have a chance to spend much time at the property.

The hosts also provide espresso/soda/drinks for an extra charge. You just write down your name and they add the costs to check-out.

Check-out: They require cash/check (European) for the stay. It was something we needed to remember during our trip to make sure we pulled enough cash the few days prior to check-out. It would be much easier if they could add credit card check out. Just a thought.

Overall: I feel like staying in Eze was a great value. We were close to the Eze village (5 minute drive) for dinners and late night walks. You CANNOT walk to the Eze village because it is located downhill. The return trip would be rough. There IS parking at the bottom of the Eze village and it is free after 7pm (I think!).

Feel free to message with any other questions.

We had an amazing experience here. Both Fred and Sylviane are wonderful hosts. Fred was very helpful in recommending places to eat and getting reservations for you. They have many resources, pamphlets, maps and traveling books if you ever need anything. The place itself was amazing - an area to relax and read a book or listen to music and drink a glass of wine. They have a lovely pool area which we unfortunately were not able to use since it was so cold. They even have a little workout room by the sauna and steam room. The bathroom was nice, with a spacious shower and modern fixtures.

I would say out of the 5 B&Bs we stayed at they served the best breakfast (for North American standards) I loved the bowl of fruit and my husband especially appreciated the eggs. The rooms are well kept and clean, with lots of space. The wifi was a little spotty at times, but having been to many places afterwards, it was comparatively good. Another pro was that there was parking available at the B&B, which is hard to find in Eze. I think the only downside is that it is a little far from old Eze, but we didn't mind.

I would go back in a heartbeat!
