Owner description: LA ROYRIE is an olive grove in Grasse, France – the world capital of perfume founded in the 15th century, producing the most beautiful form of the olive: the quintessential perfect oil, one of the best European oil, produced in a fantastic organic garden. Monique and Lionel Brault decided to better inform the consumer through visits of the olive grove and training sessions: information, comparisons and olive oil tastings. The visits are made by the owner in French and English, only on reservation call before

Visited this olive grove with my mother in May and it was fantastic. Lionel is an expert and shares really interesting insights into his olive grove and how he maintains the land around the trees. He kindly explained everything in English. We then had an amazing tasting lunch made from things grown in the garden - absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this as something different to do on your trip to the South of France. Thank you Lionel!

I took my (business-) friends here for an unmatched experience.. You need to make a reservation, before going there. Monique made us a perfect lunch for 9 people with their own organically grown vegetables. Just Perfect. Lionel's knowledge and passion for the terroir and organic growing of olives is so great to listen to. His English is perfect. If going to the Fragonnard, or Cannes red carpet sounds a bit touristy for you and you're in for a real French experience in one of the most beautiful locations, this is the place to go. Unmatched..

This was an unparrelled experience - both educational and delicious. Monique, Lionel, (and their dog Doff) embody the concept of joie de vivre. Their knowledge of organic farming and local cuisine are outstanding and their persuit of their passion were truly inspiring. We learned so much and are grateful to our guide - Cecile from Cecile Tours for making this experience possible.

This was our 4th visits to Nice, so we wanted to do something different, and found this place in TripAdvisor. Grasse is about 40 minutes from Nice. Use hiway A8 otherwise you will be driving very winding and very narrow streets.

We made an appointment by e-mail because their website was French only and we could not read it, but Lionel was kind enough to explain everything in English. The tour of the Olive Grove was lovely. All the olive trees there are 500 years old and Lionel and his wife manage the grove organic. The Tour and the Olive oil tasting were instructionable and educational. You learn the history of the olive grove and the most recent scientific approaches of growing the best olives for oil. Very nice dog.

It was my first trip to the South of France with my French husband and we just happen to stop in Grasse for a quick tour. We were walking around the city centre where we discovered an olive oil store. That is where we met Monique and Lionel the wonderful host of La Royrie. They shared with us their knowledge about olive oil and invited us to their place for a tour. We went to their place the following day and was impressed by the landscape, the amount of work put into a bottle of olive oil and most of all the amazing food that Monique prepared for us. We had a roast duck with rosemary sauce that was cooked to perfection and her chestnut cake was simply divine. She is a fantasic cook and we learnt a lot about olive oil and they even wrote a book about it. We were very impressed by the amount of didication and work both Monique and Lionel put into making their olive oil.
