The scenery is breath-taking, the circuit varied in hills, curves, flat road. Great place to recharge your batteries without having to wear the yellow jersey from the Tour de France. I haven't done the tour in a few years, but I remember it as a summer highlight with the entire family on our bicycles, so not too hard, although not exactly for rank beginners.

The narrow and beautiful Gorges du Loup cuts through the hills at the foot of Gourdon,12 km from Grasse. The D2210 road along the forested edge of the hills runs through Bar-sur- Loup,Pont-sur-Loup,Tourrettes-sur-Loup and Vence.
Drive up the valley and see Gourdon perched on the cliffs above and below ,as you drive is The cascade de Courmes (waterfall) comes down over the notch in a long spray of water. It then spills over large mossy boulders into the pool,40 m below the top.
Tip.... There is not much parking near the falls with the best choice on the left just near the exit of the first long tunnel.

We were on our way from Vence to Gourdon and had a nice refreshing stop at Gorges du Loup. You can wonder along the river (easy walk) and admire the beauty of the mountains & the river.
There s also a candy factory & very French Bistro.

Been there a few times, the last one on August 2012. It is a really nice place, but not a majestic one.

I've followed the river and I've found a spot where u can do cliff-jumping into the water. Some people were also pickining around.

So.. why not an excellent place? First, the foot-path is not at all easy to follow. At certain points you need to crumble in order to move in safety. Also the water is extremely cold. Been there in the middle of August and your whole body gets numb in less than a minute (for those of you that will say this is normal, try Bavella in Corse). Third, there is not parking! The road is very narrow, and you just have to drive along and hope that you get lucky.

To summarise, a very nice visit, but still looking elsewhere for a nice place with rivers etc. in Cote d'Azur.

Well worth doing, as it is a gorge you do have a winding route through tunnels but the scenery merits it. Also for film buffs is used in To Catch a Thief
