“Godo value and the only terrace in with Grasse with a view”
Reviewed 1 July 2013

We went on one of their musical "theme" evenings. The theme was country and western, but band played a lot of blues numbers as well.

On theme evening, food is a set menu. Which in this case was Fois Gras, followed by a steak and concluded by a chocolate cake. They replaced the Fois Gras for me (as I don't eat it on principle) by a salad. They won't win any culinary prizes, but the steak was well cooked. Price for 2 (with a rum cocktail, a bottle of wine and coffee) was a very reasonable 76, Euro so I will go back.

Main reason for going is the surroundings. The Casino has a really attractive terrace with a view looking towards the coast. It is the only place in Grasse which has this.

“Grasse Fragonard in The homeland of scents”

Fragonard in The homeland of scents
by Zoran Slavic

In the French town of Grass was spent winter and Napoleon's sister. Pauline Bonaparte naturally that is not the most important facts in the memory of the city. She may be one of the most intriguing guests and preoccupies me because, while in the old part Grasse way through the narrow streets, intersections and unexpected vaulted squares. I think of it, about which there is a rumor. This primarily talks about her unbelievable beauty. Moreover, incredible dedication to his brother - Napoleon. The only thing that was the only equal that loves was her hatred towards Josephine, Creole seductive dark eyes that overclouded sense that Bonaparte. Which is March 1815 and personally went through Gras, probably on the way to ultimate defeat.
He had no time to rest. Therefore, Napoleon was through a small town just rush by. Warriors only fighting. If you do not make love! In addition, the for centuries Gras sail through a sea of fragrance. Meek and lowly. Intoxicated with cups of pollen and spices. Full of history and the city it is an amazing story.
Great conqueror did not come by the house to the city to look at early works, Jean-Honorees Fragonard, French Rococo painter and printmaker, born in this city 1732. Whom in the Grass could not meet because he died in Paris 1806. That still takes a break in this fragrant hiding place, probably hesitant to stand in front of monumental historical canvases of Fragonard, trying to reach peripheral vision to love and erotic mischief on canvases of the painter's mature phase. Which is still standing, somewhat isolated, in the museum of perfumery and perfumed soap. In the building where the father of the famous painter had a workshop for making and perfuming gloves, and equipment for making scented soap. Unique museums gorgeous fragrance, and at the same time as the French Rococo painting gallery.
In addition, Queen Victoria stayed in this landscape. She disliked black funerals and London at the time purple and white they spent then, she and Paulina, here, a couple of winter, each for itself, in their eras, marked her funeral. The latter of Rothschild or the Grand Hotel. In whose immediate closeness later lived and our Prince Paul Karadjor djevic. Moreover, I almost forgot, near Grasse, in a mountain village, 1963. Years, has died, another queen. Uncrow ned! Queen chanson Edith Piaf. For one day overtake his friend - Jean Cocteau.
