A bit early for the tourist season, we were visiting Frejus for business. We were a large group of more than 60 people, and it seemed we were the only guests, occupying almost all the tables.
The service and food were quick and pro. We had a King Prawn Tempura with tartar sauce as a starter, (which in my opinion one should not have on the menu due to its unfriendly impact on the environment). Very tasty! As main course we were served a delicious sea bass filet with garlic cream and gnocchi pasta, and for dessert several choices. Amongst the desert the Tiramisu was very good. The surroundings were also nice and the interior quite ok.

The marina in Frejus off-season offers a lot of empty restaurants. Le Cesar had many occupied tables which seemed to suggest it was more popular than the others. The service was very nice and obliging but the food was pretty average. As another reviewer has noted, probably best to avoid the Italian dishes. The prawn risotto was more like rice pudding. Overall, quite a pleasant experience and atmosphere but average food.

The only restaurant open on a Saturday night in late December in Port Frejus. Probably quite charming on a summer's evening with view of the harbour but atmosphere wise nothing special in the dead of winter and not helped by the sub standard quality of their food. I have made the mistake before of ordering vaguely Italian dishes (simple risottos, pastas) in France and perplexingly the French seem congenitally unable to do Italian food. The gambas risotto here was a total nightmare. I am not sure what rice they used or if it even was rice, because the whole thing was a mass of creamy fatty gloppy glue with 4 gambas on top. Almost inedible. Coupes of sub-par champagne very expensive at 12 Euros each (8 is more like the price elsewhere on the coast). Moelleux chocolat for dessert was an industrial reheated affair that was basically chocolate mousse in form of a slice, not an actual pastry. In a twon with few to no good restaurants this one is one to avoid.

There's already much written about this restaurant: We also subscribe that this is a very good place to go.
It won't harm to reserve up front, since it is almost always packed there. (no wonder!).
Good food, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere; a place to go back!

It was full every night, because they had great food. The staff were very helpful, even updating rugby results for us! The mussels are a must have and the view of the marina just makes the experience better.
