“Eurocamp la baume.....mmmm?”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

Ok, we stayed in at the site in Easter 2014 (mid April). We had a 2 bedroom classic plus caravan from eurocamp - number A32.
Positives:
- the weather was glorious, sunny and hot
- the site was in a great place to tour the French Riviera and see most of the 'must see' places
- the pools were great for kids ( not young ones tho)
- indoor pool and steam room were great
- life guards were good at their job
- staff were friendly
- site was clean and tidy
Pretty good then.........................but
Negatives:
- site is VERY close to the Motorway and you can hear the noise of speeding traffic constantly during the night
-pool slides are made of rough concrete (I know!)- they can skin you and rip your cossie.
- the pool sun beds are tied together so you are limited to where you sit or who next to - the lifeguards would not untie them.
- the site restaurant is average at best with a very limited menu
- the bar is very tacky and Butlins like. It's also very expensive.
- the site billed itself as fully open, although there were no kids activities at all- very disappointing.
- the site wifi is very very expensive.
- I could imagine the pool areas, bar and restaurant not being able to cope in peak season.
- the nearest town - frejus, is not very nice unfortunately. We could not find anywhere nice to eat at all.
So, all in all more negatives than positives for us although we did have a great holiday. I think this was more to do with our trips out, the weather and our own entertainment, rather than anything to do with the site.
Would I return........No
would I recommend to my family and friends..... No
Review is as honest as can be and our personal opinion only.
If you want to know any more I am happy to answer any questions.

Had 7 nights in a Keycamp 2 bedroomed 1 bathroom mobile home.Good job there was only 2 of us as this is a really small caravan. But apart from that what a great site ,we went in early September so was very quiet,no trouble getting sun beds any time of the day at any of the pools.
One of the best sites we have stayed on very clean and good reps.
Only downside too far to walk into Frejus,so had to use car But found free parking by Cemetery
One tip if you wish to go to Monaco, go on a Wednesday only 5 euros return by train, way to go.
Cannes and the rest of the pretentious resorts are in easy reach. The coast road from Frejus to Cannes well worth driving, with little beaches dotted along a very spectacular road with a wonderful view of Cannes from the hills.
Had a good drive back to Calais easy driving on very good tool roads.Only moan. why did my sat nav do a detour of nearly 100 miles take us through Paris at 7 o'clock on a Friday night.
Still trying to get my nerves calm down.

Room Tip: Make sure you have air con and a deck

This was our first experience with Eurocamps. We were not impressed by the caravan, but it is what it is. The pools were great fun for the children. However, the entire experience was ruined by the fact that someone broke into our caravan while we were out for 2 hours. When we approached reception to tell them, they said talk to Eurocamps and they did not really care. And it turns out that it is because it happens all the time. Security is terrible and we were told that it was someone who was on-site and there was nothing that could be done. As we chatted around, it became obvious that it is a serious problem at this resort with an organised group attacking caravans. BUT the site absolutely refused to acknowledge it or put up signs warning their clients to be diligent and to protect their belongings. Someone broke a locked window and this happened all down our row of caravans (closest to the action (in the 770's +)). I believe that if they put up signs saying, ' Thieves operate in this area, protect your valuables and report any suspicious activity immediately to ...’ But I know they do not want to do this if it scares people away. I believe they have a duty of care for their customers and should install lock boxes in the caravans, CCTV’s as well as increase security. From my discussions over just 2 days, we discovered that there were several occurrences and this is totally unacceptable. I will never return to such an unsafe and poorly managed resort. Shame on you.

We've stayed here now for 3 years and still the kids love it. Now a 10,8 and 4 year old and all love it. It's got a selection of pools and slides,a play pool(area) for the young one and just a great area for the kids to play around. If confident on driving I would recommend a car as it will save on airport transfers( for us 5 £80 one way) and then if you would like to visit the near by town of frejus and night markets it is really handy to have a car.
All in all a great relaxing holiday.
Make use of the kids club as they will meet new friends.
Use the supermarkets close by for a big shop.
Bikes and scooters can be rented.
BBQ on site.
Enjoy.

Room Tip: You can put in a request but you get want they have when you arrive

A couple of tips....do pay the extra for air con, take your own table tennis bats and buy as little as possible in the hugely expensive campsite shop. A week in August was spent in blistering 33 degrees in our 'horizon' mobile home. It was small and cramped but in fairness we didn't spend much time there. Walls are paper thin though and noise at night can be tiresome. We had one fan for a 3 bed home and it was roasting at night! Mosquitos abound so we didn't spend that much time outside. Make sure you take repellant of you'll pay 15euros in the shop. Functional accommodation and relatively comfortable beds - bunks are very narrow though. However it did feel like they'd squeezed as many as possible onto every available space. We didn't have a car and as such were 'stuck' there. A week was plenty to be confined to the site. Kids loved the pools but definitely need to be swimmers. Not enough sun beds for adults so perhaps invest in a cheap one of your own! All in all I was disappointed. You had to have all your own stuff to play tennis etc....no hire available. We didn't try the kids' clubs but the programmes looked ok. Not really any early entertainment in the evening for the children and other events were noisy. However adult opinion aside...children loved it but we won't be returning. Wifi is charged separately and probably worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for accommodation away from the main road and preferably the club house for a better kip.

The accommodation is a mobile home, so not luxurious, but the pools are great (slides are fun but better for able swimmers), lots of British & Irish kids for ours to play with, some organised activities/entertainment (circus, trampolines, football, volleyball etc.) & a safe environment. We like it because it is relaxing (we mostly stay by the pool - definitely take one of those £5 canvas chairs), good value, safe for teenage kids who can roam within large site & there is some entertainment. The down side is the food on site is expensive & of mediocre value, the mobile homes are OK plus the entertainment starts late,

We have been 4 or 5 times with the family and they love it. .

We stayed at this campsite last summer with our 3 children. Take care in researching it thoroughly. Eurocamp's brochure make it look fantastic. The reality is that it is dated and the pools are lined with concrete, as are the flumes shown in the brochure.
When our 5 year old had a soaring temperature we were told that Eurocamp could not provide an air conditioned mobile home but took commission from a local man who brought a unit to our mobile. This was after we had made Eurocamp aware that he had been to hospital. They are capitalising on the fact that it is roasting hot and they do not provide air conditioned units.
There was no kids entertainment at all until after 10pm.
We could not sit outside due to the number of mosquitos.
The pools are at opposite ends of the campsite and are mainly deep water.
The restaurants were poor, with one pizza unit.
The campsite shop was limited - drive to nearby Carrefour.
We have been to a campsite before in Italy and this just did not compare. We would not recommend it.
