This was quite an experience! We were told there was only one room left, which is why we were charged $10 euros above the posted price. Apparently it is common practice in Europe for the room prices to fluctuate based on occupancy rates. The room was on the first floor overlooking the lagoon. From our balcony we could see some large carpy looking fish stalking our bread crumbs. The room was not a bad size, but had only one queen sized bed. The toilet was literally a water closet! And had a very bad odor. Tried not to think about sewer gas when we went to bed. Next door to the toilet closet was another room with bathtub and sink. This struck us as an odd arrangement. The furnishings seemed worn. The landscaped yard and pond were cute, but unfortunately traffic noise from the road marred the relaxation effect. The indoor pool is very nice and there is no extra charge for the spa. There was a large package group there during our stay which seems like the mainstay of this hotel's business. A friendly night watchman made me up a bag of ice after half an hour of playing charades since we do not speak any French. If you don't mind stinky toilets and traffic noise, it's sort of a cute faux resort with friendly staff.
