The amount of local work and the breadth of discovery in the area is quite remarkable. I must say, the use of bronze sculptures in the dioramas added a level of respectful undestanding I have not seen elsewhere.
The mish mash of various small sculptures from hither and yon is more confusing than informative...

Interesting story and displays of the earliest inhabitants of the Cote d'Azur. We made a quick tour of the museum and, unfortunately, all displays in French and we did not have English translation available to us. Not sure if available, would have really helped!

There are 2 museums. With difficulty we were given a card which gave us some information in English. Although only yards from the border of Menton, or more accurately Garavan, the staff on duty only spoke Italian. It was not possible to visit the caves themselves which was disappointing so the museums are it.

This gives a good picture of the ancient history of this area and early man. Unfortunately there was no English translation so it wasn't easy to learn alone could.

... but put into context for the non-specialist. Small museum with good displays and helped me to understand better (I'm 53!) just how long the prehistoric stage of our civilisation was! The staff were very helpful, relaxed and friendly. And it's free!
