“Excellent Apartment”
Reviewed 11 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Bottero is a charming, spacious, attractively decorated and well furnished apartment. The bonus is the patio garden although, in December, we didn't get a lot of use out of it. The location is excellent, just 3 blocks back from the Promenade des Anglais, very close to supermarkets, bakers and many other shops. There are neighbourhood cafés but about a 15minute walk takes you to a pedestrian area where there are many bars, cafés and restaurants. In spite of this hustle and bustle in the streets the apartment was extremely quiet.

We had a few problems while we were there, the sitting room roller shutter got stuck down, a number of light bulbs/fittings didn't work in the kitchen and the DVD remote control was missing. The property managers, Pebbles, sorted all our concerns very quickly and effectively. However I feel that the lack of good task lighting in the kitchen needs to be addressed fully in the longer term.

We had a great stay in Nice, so much to do in the area, and so easy and cheap to get around by public transport. It's lovely place for a short city break or a longer stay.

This is the second time we have stayed at this apartment travelling from Australia and we just love it. It is close to private beaches, the promenade, supermarkets and transport. We had baguettes, cheese & wine most evenings on the terrace!

Liked best: It was spacious and appealing, like a French house.
Liked least: The rep had big problems with the keys letting us in and became quite annoyed. Also we had problems with the TV as the handset battery was dead but all was eventually fixed.

“Great Location and wonderful little terrace”
Reviewed 24 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We arrived about 30 mins later than predicted, so our Pebbles host was initially a bit grumpy (I stated we would arrive 5 mins after the train arrived !).
Location - Ideal for getting around Nice, close to patisserie's for those important morning croissant and a 1 minute walk to Casino, the local supermarket. Its close to some local restaurants, but also close to the front for the usual holiday treat to a high quality restaurant.
Bottero, is a very spacious apartment, a big lounge (which we didnt use), large bedroom, well fitted kitchen and good bathroom.
The bonus is the terrace which is accessed by the bedroom and kitchen, so you can have breakfast there and a night cap.
The apartment is in a community block, so there are locals living, the next door neighbour is grumpy, we were chatting on the terrace at 1230am (very quietly) and were still promptly told off by him.
Why didnt I give it 5 stars. We were advised prior that there was minor damp with no smell. The damp was in the toilet (which we were not told of the location of the damp) and it had crept into the kitchen, and there was a smell. It wasnt bad, but I felt we were not advised sufficently.
My wife also had to mop the floor in the apartment as our feet were getting dirty.
Pebbles did give us a parital refund prior to the visit and they advised during the visit that the problem is being rectified.
When we next visit Nice, we will rent this apartment again,
Note - ensure you use the light switch when entering the block, the entrance door to the apartment is not very well lit.

Thank you for your review of your recent stay in Bottero. We understand that it can be difficult to navigate a new city (especially with luggage!), so our agents can meet you at the bus/tram stop, and help you find your way to the apartment. Unfortunately, the source of the damp in this apartment comes from the apartment above, which we are not allowed to access. This makes addressing this issue very difficult. We are always working towards a solution, but in the meantime, we invite you to look at our other apartments in this area. We are delighted that you enjoyed your holiday, and sincerely hope that your stay wasn't adversely affected. We appreciate you taking the time to tell us about your holiday and hope to see you again soon!

“Ideal location for first time in Nice”
Reviewed 14 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

This was our first visit to Nice. The information on Riviera Pebbles website helped us find the right property in the right location for our stay.
Information provided by Riviera Pebbles from booking right up to arrival was excellent and we would not hesitate to book with them again. It was nice to know they were available should you need any assistance during your stay.
On arrival at the apartment I was a little worried by the dark entrance to the apartment building, but I later discovered this is common in Nice and was nothing to worry about. The apartment was lovely and felt secure.
The balcony was great for sitting out-but only got sun on an afternoon, and we were rarely there on an afternoon. I agree with some of the other reviews that the balcony was a little untidy, but this didnt bother us too much. The kitchen facilities were good. We did not cook, but it appeared everything you could possibly need was provided. The bedroom and lounge were spacious. It was nice to have more space than a hotel room would give you.
Apartment was clean enough although some areas were a little dusty.
Apartment was easy to reach on the airport shuttle bus.
Lots of local supermarkets, bakeries etc in the vicinity. Freshly baked croissants on the balcony every morning. Lovely!
Close enough to everything, but far enough away to be quiet on an evening.
5 minute walk to the promenade. 15-20 minute walk to the old town. (A pleasant stroll back along the promenade to the apartment after dinner in the old town).
15-20 mins walk to the train station. Free Wi-fi.
We used the bus service to Villefrance, and the train service to visit Monaco and Cannes.
Apartment was exactly as described on the Riviera Pebbles website.
My only suggestions to improve the property - a choice of pillows as I found mine a bit hard and a couple of comfier chairs for use on the balcony would have been nice.

“Better than expected”
Reviewed 3 March 2013 for a stay in February 2013

We had expected a 3rd floor apartment with balcony but to our surprise and pleasure we were given the 1st floor apartment with large patio. A real bonus as it was warm enough to have lunch there on a few occasions. The apartment was spacious with a well equipped kitchen, perfect for us as we like to shop at the markets and cook. Excellent transport links minutes away as well two good supermarkets. Very good service from the Pebbles reps, on arrival and whenever required. We would use this company again.

“Very comfortable”
Reviewed 8 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Liked the apartment very much: quite spacious, well-furnished and a great location- especially with good boulangeries etc. nearby. Really appreciated the breakfast terrace and well-equipped kitchen.
Just one small quibble: the air-con in the bedroom and kitchen was great but just an electric fan in the lounge wasn't adequate for us in the hot temperatures.
Overall, though, very happy.

We are delighted that you liked the amenities in our Bottero apartment. We understand that it can get quite hot given that the air-conditioner mainly cools the bedrooms and kitchen, so we have extra fans at our Rentals Office which are available for use by guests if you find the heat uncomfortable. Thank you for taking the time to write this review of your holiday with Pebbles. We hope you enjoyed your time in Nice, and we look forward to seeing you again!
