I am a customer -- the word is probably not the best, fan would be better -- of the Rotonde since the eighties. And I do consider this place as one of the most constantly good to very good of Nice.
The present Chef, Rieubland is a modern cook, but also aim to do it simple and with original savours. My wife and I eat there for the 14. Juillet this year, and the meal was one of the very best I eat in the past 5 years. A great Gaspacho, fresh and spicy, a perfectly cooked plaice, with a nice touch of "piment d'espelette", a perfectly prepared lamb chop. And as I dislike the "fromage blanc" (cottage cheese mousse), I demanded and got a nice cup of red fruits. A very nice meal indeed!
Moreover, and as an advice for persons impressed by the surrounding of the Negresco: Everybody is friendly and simnple there -- you do not need to fear!
