“Great little restaurant”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

Chose this restaurant more or less at random, and what a great choice it turned out to be. Fresh ingredients, brilliantly cooked to bring out their subtle flavours. Friendly but unobtrusive service. We paid 150 Euros for three courses each, aperitifs and a great bottle of local wine.

“Brilliant”
Reviewed 13 December 2013

Having one night in nice we were very choosy with which restaurant with authentic French food we went to. Concluding a 5 week European tour this was one of if not the best meal we'd had and we'd been to both expensive and reasonably priced places in large scale and regional areas in Italy, Germany, Poland and France. We searched the old town for 30 mins skipping the overpriced and touristy italian restaurants and saw this one at the back with no customers and went in only because we were frustrated, it looked French and the prices were relatively cheaper than others. Personalised, quaint and unobtrusive waiter and the chef was efficient and the food was magnificent. A shared risotto starter because of the French twist, the blue cheese sauce was actually subtle. Mains of duck and beef cheeks were succulent and flavoursome and vegetables were Provençal and the lavender Pannonia was loaded with lavender and the texture although different wasn't trying to be italian. Every element on each dish was unequivocally perfect and any bad review just must be an aberration because they could also handle a capacity crowd which came during our dinner. We however had to wait 40 minutes for the bill because they were trying to draw more in but it could not sully the experience, people need to go here! Magnificent - happy aussie customer

“Quail breasts”

A delightful little place with delicious food and very good service. Like most places in Nice, the wine was a bit more expensive than we'd have liked when away from UK taxes.

“Too expensive”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

This was the most expensive restaurant during our 4 day visit to Nice. I had the duck in spiced honey sauce which was very spicy with a small pot of greasy chips and half a tomato. My husband ordered the special, beef in a paprika sauce, which turned out to be a few cubes of beef on a stick and a pot of greasy chips and half a tomato. My lavender panna cota came minus the lavender. Altho we got the last table as a large party filled the rest of the restaurant and were all having a set menu this should not have made any difference to our meal.

“Very Disappointed--must have been a bad night”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

Very Disappointed--Worst meal on a 2 week trip to France
Based on reviews that we had read, we had great expectations for Ferme Saleya. Hopefully it was an “off” night or the chef was inattentive.. The meal failed on all levels--preparation, flavor, and presentation. I ordered the linguine with pesto. The pasta came swimming in the pesto sauce (as Cheerios swim in milk) with some tomato quarters thrown in—not like any pasta pesto I have ever had. My wife’s tuna was flavorless, dry and overpowered by a too syrupy balsamic glaze, served with greasy potatoes. She ordered the tuna rare. While the center was rare the rest over the tuna steak was overcooked. Service was good, as was the Pink Floyd wine. No a/c and hot.
