“Great 1 week stay”
Reviewed 4 August 2011

I enjoyed my one week in Nice staying here. New modern building. Very clean, comfortable with well equipped kitchenette for some meals in-and with Carefourre across the street it was a breeze to buy anything and everything needed. The small pool and roof deck was nice for one day off from the beach. Reception was very nice and rooms kept after as needed. Separate toilet closet was OK except for the fact there was no sink, which was located with the shower off the bedroom. This suite had double windows which blocked street noise, but I understand not available in all rooms. Very easy to and from the airport by city bus, which stops a few streets over from this hotel. I will certainly stay here again.

We booked this hotel on Expedia at the last minute and the price was very good. We were staying in superior suite and superior studio with the family. Rooms are rather large and comfortable. The residence is new so it is in a very good state. Kitchen utensils are limited, we even had to buy a knife from the supermarket (Carrefour is just opposite the hotel), we also bought washing products. All the rest was very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is good and quiet, the tram is very close.
Negative points - no basin in the toilet in the suite. But this is minor, I think. I recommend this aparthotel it is really good and not very expensive. I would return with pleasure.

Residence, hmmm, that seems to be a buzzword for something between a hotel and apartment.

We had a street facing level one room (no balcony), outer walls surprisingly soundproof, inner walls and the sliding doors not so. We had a 2 bedroom one living room, bathroom, toilet (without basin) -- a small flat. Quite good non-movable and non-separable double beds. There was a fold out couch for 2 more persons in the living room. It’s quite newly built, with good selection of materials, but some scratches already show.

Location: very good, Nice TNL/Carrefour across the street. Skip the hotel breakfast, buy your favourites for cheaper. Big fat warning: Sundays everything is closed. There’s a shop somewhere on the right that is open, ask at the reception. Tram two blocks on the left, playground 3 blocks on the right. If coming by car, get a parking space in the hotel’s garage, space on the streets is very scarce and metered.

Internet: crappy. The cabled broadband in the room worked for 2 days out of 14 despite complaining at the reception. Speed is crappy too, the whole hotel is hanging on a 5Mbit line. eeeeeek. Like old times.

Aircon: went crazy, was out of control. Some rooms polar cold, some nothing at all.

Level one street facing rooms have no balcony -- it’s impossible to get the towels dry.

For longer stays weekly cleaning is advertised, we had cleaning and towel change just once in 14 days -- not so nice. Ohh and bring your trash yourself down. Vacuum cleaner is available in the room for DIY. Iron and ironing board also there. Kitchenette is ready for smaller meals: fridge, microwave/griller combo, dishwasher, double ceran hob, one small pan, 2 pots. For bigger meals figure what to bring/buy. You get one detergent tablet for free, otherwise it’s all empty. Washing machine and dryer is available at a charge downstairs.

Pool on the roof, water was quite chilli in mid-June. Sauna and fitness rooms OK, fresh towels provided.

All in all, despite the above smaller issues it’s quite OK, price/value was also quite good.
Would come again.

We booked our hotel based on recommendations from other travellers and reviews on tripadvisor and we not disappointed. Now and then you hit and miss with some hotels, especially in France with the size of their rooms, but for a hotel that was opened in 2010 the size of the room we stayed in was more than adequate. Of course the layout of the rooms could be done a little different to extend the size of living space, just based on the size of the hallway which was the same size as the kitchenette area and seperated by a door. The toilet is also seperate from the bathroom and has no wash basin and considering the bathroom is located in the bedroom, if it is in the night, you have to pass through your friends sleeping to wash your hands. The pool area is well designed and has 3 levels which can easily fit many seperate groups of travellers without impeeding on eachothers space, plenty of children were playing in the pool and surrounding area while we were there, so it is really not a problem to have children swimming in that pool! The atmosphere of the hotel is quiet and a good location away from a lot of the traffic with only a 3-4minute walk to get on the tram which takes you to all the tourist attractions within a 10 minute ride. There is a shopping mall across the road for all your snacks and other needs. The hotel supposedly boasts 90% of the rooms have a balcony and we were lucky ehough to have one that looked up to the hills. It easily fits 3-4 people sitting for a nice glass of wine before heading out on the town.
I would happily recommend this hotel based on easy access to public transport, value for money and facilities, especially if you are looking for a modern hotel to stay in.

Myself, my husband and our 1 year old son stayed at Hi Park for one week in June. Overall I would highly recommend the hotel. It's very clean and modern, and staff are extremely helpful. When we arrived and were allocated a room without a balcony - they moved us within 10 minutes to another one with a balcony. They also provided a cot for our son. Its right opposite a McDonalds and a shopping centre with plenty of shops and a huge Carrefour - which was extremely handy for us. Wine etc extremely reasonable - and we were able to get all the baby requirements that we needed. It's a 5 minute walk from the Acropolis tram stop which run to the Place Massena every few minutes, and costs 1 euro per journey. This enabled us to get in and out to the Promenade Des Anglais each day with zero hassle. My only annoyance with Hi Park was that in the entire 7 days we stayed there they changed our sheets and towels only once, and when they did they did not clean the room in any which way! Including the bathroom - which when being used by 3 people needs cleaned much more regularly. The pool is extremely small and not suited really for kids, and the pool area itself is also tiny, the atmosphere quiet and a little stilted. Fine for couples, but not for children.

All in all though we very much enjoyed our experience at Hi Park

Very good location (shopping center in front of the hotel, 15 min walking distance to city port, 20 min to beach). Possibility to cook yourself microwave, cooker, all necessary dishes etc.(the only missing thing is oven - it could be useful to put it in the room, than it is possible to cook picas yourself). Everything is nice and clean. Very friendly personal. A special thanks to Ecaterina, which provided us with all the necessary information, as well as give us possibility to speak Russian a little bit.
The only disadvantages is that rooms are cleaned every 2 days, which is critical for families with children. Also Internet room is too small and it is always blocked.
Overall hotel is perfect.

I'll start with the bad. 4 of us stayed in the hipark. 2 on the sofabed and 2 in the bedroom. It was a studio apartment room I think. Since returning I have been crippled, as a result of the sofa bed as has anyone else who stayed on it. It's a very uncomfortable sofa bed. The theme for the room altogeher was uncomortableness and inconvenience. The ceiling lamps are 4 feet from the floor and in the most inopportune positions. I hit my head on them at least 3 times a piece from sitting at the dining table. They are ugly also and I see no need for them.

The beds were remade once during the week but they forgot to do the sofabed.

The room is very small. Way too small for 4 people. And it's full of huge unneccessary furniture. The floor lamp was the size of the table and took up so much room. As did another low chair that was bigger than the table but wasn't sat upon for the whole week. Also the toilet and bathroom are separate, so those in the bedroom have to walk through the sofabed room in order to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night. And those that want to wash their hands after using the bathroom have to walk through the bedroom to wash their hands in the bathroom. No sink in toilet.

As for the good, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is cool, but nice. Location is good. Right on the tram line and 10 minutes walk from the old town if you're coming home after the tram has finished. The fitness room is just a treadmill, rowing machine and bike, but a good facility if that is your thing. I did not try the sauna. The free internet access on 2 computers or wifi in reception is brilliant too.

The price of all extras are huge really. Parking is €10 per day and breakfast is €15. I don't recommend hiring a car. The town is extremely well connected and the hotel is 5minutes from a train station. Nice Riqiuex. From there you can travel to Monte Carlo or Cannes for just a couple of euro.
