This is a standard business-type hotel, partly redeemed by a brilliant location. It is ruined by outrageous pricing. High room prices are standard for Nice. But add in, for example, €5 for a Coke from the room fridge, €19 to use the wifi (per day), €4 to listen to a CD (per day), and €25 for a cooked breakfast! There is a beautiful roof terrasse, but high prices kept me away (such as €11 for the cheapest glass of wine). The 2nd floor bar was usually empty, presumabl;y due to high prices. The air conditioning in the room worked poorly, making for some uncomfortable nights. On the plus side, the standard room was clean and quiet, and Reception was helpful. I won't be back.

We would like to thank you for sharing your comments on TripAdvisor.

We sincerely apologize about the air-conditioning in your room during your stay with us. Please rest assured that we will share your comment with the concerned department and will make sure that this won’t happen again.

However, we are delighted to know that you enjoyed the hotel location and its great roof-top terrace.
We are glad that you appreciated our helpful Reception team!

We went there on vacation with our 3 year old daughter. Upon arrival, the upgrade due to my Platinum status came harder than usual - we were already expecting it from previous comments we say here in trip advisor. We got a room with partial sea view and facing the quite side street in a high floor. The rooms are spacious enough for three - i don't appreciate carpet floors in beach location, so that was the downside in the room. But it is quite enough to get good rest every night. The room service is on the pathetic side, with very few options and the usual french friendliness on the phone...
The breakfast was very good, and the service there above the average of the hotel. The big highlights are the superb location and the amazing views from the terrace. We got the dinner on the 14 juillet on the terrace, which was the perfect setting for the fireworks!
I do recommend the hotel, as despite some shortcomings, it is the SPG service your used to.

Dear NunoGoogles,

Thank you for having chosen Le Méridien Nice for your stay in the French Riviera and for being part of our loyalty program Starwood Preferred Guest.
We are glad that you enjoyed the breakfast, the service provided by our team and our roof-top panoramic restaurant. You sure had one of the best spots in Nice to admire the fireworks!

We are sorry that you didn’t get the upgrade as easily as expected.
We will make sure that it won’t happen again.

We really look forward to welcoming you again at Le Méridien Nice.

The location is probably the best feature of this hotel. Located on the main strip on the Nice waterfront and just a block from the start of Nice Old Town. The hotel itself is pretty standard and nothing special about the rooms. So you are paying for location. It is close to a private beach or a public beach, whichever you prefer.

We were disappointed by the hotel staff, especially the front desk crew. Several times we had questions about the area or the hotel. It seemed as if we were interrupting their busy schedule, because they only barely responded to specific questions and didn't volunteer any information. They seemed anxious to get us to leave.

I have to say the cold service was limited to the front desk staff. The bellhops and the terrace restaurant staff were very nice and friendly. One of the best features of the hotel is the rooftop restaurant and the wide view of the Mediterranean Sea. The food and drink were a little pricing (like the rooms), but the view was worth the price of one meal.

Particularly frustrating was the fact that internet access and breakfast was an additional charge. Seemed a little petty after paying the roughly $500/night rate for a Seaview room.

Room Tip: If you are going to spend this much money on a hotel, spend a little more and get a seaview room.

Dear GolfIT,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the TripAdvisor community.
We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Sea View Room you stayed in and our panoramic restaurant “La Terrasse”. Indeed, they both have a breathtaking view over the Mediterranean Sea!

We sincerely apologize for the bad experience you had with our front desk team.
Please rest assured that your comments will be forwarded to the concerned department in order to take the corrective actions and to avoid this kind of inconveniences in the future.

Once again, thank you for your comments and we hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you soon.

Even the SPG staff warned me about this hotel. It's central and the sea-facing rooms have amazing views. However, the hotel itself is old. The hallways and carpets scream another era. I used points, so I'm not sure the price. I'm sure it's overpriced. Be warned. The majority of the rooms in this hotel do not face the sea. If you are not platinum - it may be hard to enjoy this hotel.

Dear Pilseung81,

Thank you for having chosen Le Méridien Nice and for being part of our loyalty program Starwood Preferred Guest.

Le Méridien Nice has a squared shape, so not all rooms have a sea view indeed. Please rest assured that our website provides a very clear description on each room’s view. Nevertheless, if you reserve a patio-view room, you will still be able to enjoy a panoramic sea view from our rooftop lounge, restaurant and pool.

We look forward to welcoming you again at Le Méridien Nice for your next stay on the French Riviera.

My wife and I stayed in room 724 for 3 nights. The excecutive sea view room had a fantastic view and hugh balcony. The decor appeared recently redone with a large bathroom and sepeate toliet closet. We dined at the rooftop resturant one night with food above average for hotel fare.

Would highly recomend the property.

We arrived here after staying in Le Meridien Paris. This hotel may be a little older but it is 100 times better. Location, room sizes, views, breakfast, location etc.
Walk into the old city or catch a train to Canne or Antibes. It's only a 15 min walk to the station.... highly recommend

A quick note to say how after having read many reviews regarding this location we were cautious. The three days here on the 8 th floor overlooking the garden and the sea were fabulous. Any calls were answered efficiently by our butler George, and in minutes any issues or desires were fulfilled. Well done staff!
The Hotel is in need of upgrading for the price they are charging, but welcome to Nice! The rooftop pool area is pathetic for what they are charging. The beds are comfortable. But location, location, location..
Also,
We have read some other reviews about hotel management responses. We agree with the reviewer's comments that the management team is lost in their marketing cloud. Management has not EVER responded to issues directly, but chose to sugarcoat over reality. Perhaps this is Le Meridien policy. It is however quite comical to read through Hotel management responses that always talk about location, and the obvious positives rather then addressing the issues.

Room Tip: Roooms facing the garden and seaview are having the morning sun until 1 p.m.
