“Excellent break - perfect location”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

Just got back from an excellent break on the Cote D'azure with my other half and 6 year old daughter. Stayed in a Junior suite for 5 nights at the West End Hotel. Room set on two floors, not huge but a perfect base and always spotless when we returned each evening from our days out. Comfortable double bed with en-suite on top floor and television. Small living room downstairs with sofa bed, table and chairs, toilet and bath, tv and fridge.

Breakfast every morning is what you would expect from a 4 star hotel and we all found it very good although a little pricey. However our 6 year old was not charged for breakfast which softened the blow! Staff were very polite.

If like us you are going to relax and get some sun this hotel is perfectly located. Opposite you have the Promenade Des Anglais where there is a public beach and a private beach (both pebble). The private beach is called the Blue Beach and cost us 18 euros each, discounted from 25 euros as we were staying at the West End Hotel. We always got 2 beds (36 euros) and they served the 3 of us well. We were in the sea the majority of the time. There is a lifeguard and some inflatables which our daughter loved. The sea was warm (August) and clean.

The South of France is not a cheap place! If you are on a budget do not go. I raised my eyes at some of the prices in the restaurants but I was not expecting a cheap holiday. There are plenty of good places to eat - along the front by the hotel is expensive but go a few streets back and head towards the old town and the prices are more in line with London.

If you get bored of the beach take a train to Boit - there is an excellent water park there and we had a great day out. A day pass for three was about 70 Euros and the train journey which hugs the coastline took about 20 minutes and cost us 30 Euros.

We found the Hotel West End a pleasant place to stay and for us it was all about the location. This Hotel is in a prime one for enjoying the beach and exploring Nice.

Room Tip: You will spend more time on the beach. Think location - not room size!

Thank you Sir
Well you did appreciate your stay in Nice and we are glad to be considered as a prime asset.
Our central location, right by the Sea offers plenty of advantages but also everyone may enjoy the surroundings very easily. Ground transportation are close to the hotel, train or intercity buses can pick you up in a walkable short distance from the hotel and drive you either to Cannes or Monte carlo.
Sure you will be back and with great pleasure for all of us.
We are longing to welcomming you back.
Sincerely yours
Guest relation manager.

A Special Birhday trip for my wife (Liz).
We selected this hotel when we realised it was on the central prom.
The bed and breakfast was superb and while we did not dine in the hotel because we had to see and visit so much of the Area.
The local bus service to Monte Carlo gave you a very interesting and picturesque view of the Coast of the Blues and it only cost 2 Euros for the return trip. We arrived in NIce about 1045 Hrs on the Tuesday and left for the airport to return home on the Thursday.
We cannot recomend any other hotels in the area but would say this was afirst class our room had a small bacony in front of each of the two sea view windows and in the evening the soundproofing ws first class and the rom service was second to none.

Room Tip: Sea facing rooms all have a super view of the Med and if you have a balcony the view is made even be...

Dear West End team
Could you provide correct e-mail adress or link to book accommodation directly from hotel website? I have sent 3 e-mails from different addresses and no reply for 2 weeks.. You offer some packages as well but they are not available on public booking websites .it is strange you do not want to contact you customers directly. Still hope to receive you answer/comments, or will have to choose another hotel.. Thank you

My daughter had a very nice stay for one night, 13 July. The hotel is very well located on the Promenade Des Anglais with good acess to great beaches and lovely restaurants nearby directly on the beach. Our room was clean and comfortable, no frills, but good value. The service was non-intrusive and effcient. I'm definitely going back in future - but for longer next time.

Just spent an incredible week in Nice. We booked a lovely room with an incredible view. It was a little on the small side, but honestly we didn’t go to Nice to sit in a hotel room, and so it suited our needs perfectly. The staff are amazing, the location perfect and the price reasonable for Nice. Would love to go back again one day.

The last 2 rooms have brand new renovated rooms, which are decorated with light colors, white marble and state of the art bathrooms!

The housekeepeing was very impressive, at your service within seconds.

Average good room with view will run close to Euro 300. Garage is a block from the hotel, and for your convenience they will be happy to get your car from the garage.
The restaurant LE SIECLE in the hotel lobby to your right, serves excellent fish and the best risotto I ate in yeras..

The hotel is situated on the Promenade des angles .Fantastic location within walking distance to the city centre and the port . The old city and the flower/fish marked a short distance away . Walking distance to the train station where you can get trains to Montycarlo or Cannes . Breakfast at the hotel was good but worth trying one of the many bar/restaurants which are on the beach immediately opposite the hotel .

Room Tip: Worth paying the extra for a sea view room .
