“A nice suprise”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 via mobile

I had low expectations of the hotel after reading some of the review, however it turned out to be great. We had a superior room on the sixth floor with a view of the surrounding hills. The room was comfortable, clean, and modern. The rooftop bar was a lovely place for a cup of tea in the morning (and to watch the world cup final!) The hotel is being renovated so there was only one lift and signs of ongoing work, but this wasn't a problem. The only weird thing is that at night the lights were always off on the seventh floor (where the lift stops when you're going up to the rooftop bar) so you have to walk through darkness to reach the stairs to the roof. It seemed that this seventh floor area (which also leads out onto a terrace with tables and chairs) could easily be made more welcoming and pleasant. The location is perfect and the staff polite and helpful. In summary, this was a fantastic hotel for Nice at the price we paid (we found a very good deal online).

Just back from a nine night stay.Hotel very centrally situated. Nice room overlooking park lovely views of Nice. Room basic, good aircon but no luxuries, slippers, bathrobes complementary water. Bottle of water in mini bar €6!!!No tea coffee making facilities. We did not take breakfast option as we felt the €18per person a bit excessive but everything is in Nice!!!!Hotel had a nice rooftop pool and bar. We couldn't understand why the 7th floor bar was closed as it would have been a great asset to the hotel but all public areas in the hotel didn't seem to be utilised at all.Hotel felt a bit run down and needed some care and attention. It could be really nice.I expected more from a 4star hotel as we paid alot.

The location is very central, we have been upgraded to a superior room of design. The room was really nice, it could become completely dark, however the doors of the toilet and shower part are partially in clear glass which ca create some embarrassment if you are sharing the room with someone. Breakfast is until 10.30 but no much choice and average quality. The bar on the roof top is nice to enjoy the view. Swimming pool is ridiculous: too small and with a dance around

We have just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel (3-10 July 2014). We requested a quiet room at the rear of the hotel on a high floor after reading other reviews that renovation work was ongoing. We emailed the hotel prior to our arrival with our request; the staff were very helpful and we were allocated a room on the 6th floor. Most work seems to have been completed and the only work still on-going is another lift but this was not a problem for us. The small rooftop pool was open and the lounge/dining area on this top floor was great - a choice of sun or shade, sun loungers or chairs with pool bar serving drinks and food. The panoramic views were spectacular, especially the delightful park with all its fountains. The hotel is very well situated; easy walking distance to Promenade des Anglais and beach, the Old Town, Galleries Lafayette and many other shops and restaurants. Our room had been recently refurbished with a spacious comfortable bedroom. The bathroom had a walk-in shower plus shower over the bath, lots of space and shelves, hooks etc. to put clothes and toiletries which is sometimes lacking in other hotels. The buffet breakfast was excellent with hot and cold food of every description. We were very pleased our room rate included the breakfast. (Otherwise separately charged at 18 Euros pp). Without exception the staff were friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome at all times. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The air-conditioning was very quiet and efficient. We flew direct Southampton/Nice and would recommend the airport bus service at Terminal 1 - No. 98 bus - which cost only 6 Euros and dropped us very near the hotel. The taxi fare would have been around 35-40 Euros plus tip! Only drawback of bus travel was that it was very popular and the bus was very full both ways. On the plus side, its not a very long journey. I cannot think I can add much more to this review except to say we will definitely be returning to this hotel!

Room Tip: We were very happy on the 6th floor at the rear of the hotel; our room overlooked some interesting...

As previous people have noted, this hotel is ideally situated in central Nice adjacent to the newly constructed park and in easy walking distance of the Old Town, Promenade de Anglais, Bus stops, shopping and 10 minutes walk to Gare Nice Ville (main train station). The hotel is having an ongoing refurbishment and some areas are still under the contractors. Generally the appearance of the hotel is good and the staff are very friendly and helpful . Breakfast was completely self service and very adequate bearing in mind the diversity of guests. We were allocated a room on the 2nd floor which had only recently been refurbished. Everything was very modern, electric shutters, tiled floors, plenty of storage space, comfy bed etc. There is no tea/coffee in these rooms so take your own. The bathroom does not have a bath tub but has a wet room with hand held shower and a "rain" shower. The wash basin took a little while to fathom out how the plug worked. We had to unscrew the plug and turn it upside down in order to fill the basin - whether this is the right way I don;t know but it worked. The main complaint from both us and other guests is that there is a window from the bedroom into the bathroom. This is plain glass so there is no privacy in the bathroom. This seems to be a design fault and needs to be rectified by installing some sort of blind/curtain. We were lucky in that we took a couple of coat hangers with 2 clips on each. We were able to hang a bath towel on the window frame which acted as a curtain. However, the hangers in the wardrobe are not any good for that.Transport is cheap on buses & the tram but a bit more expensive on trains. It is very easy to go to Antibes, Cannes Grasse, Monte Carlo, Menton and all the various villages in the locality. The 98 bus from the airport drops you off about 150 metres from the hotel but going back the bus stop is only about 50 metres away and the buses run about every 20 minutes. It now costs 6 euros each way on the airport bus.

Room Tip: NOt having seen any other rooms it is difficult to say. We were in the back- very quiet but no view...

Travelled to Nice for a long weekend with my friends to celebrate our birthdays. This hotel's location was just perfect, right across from a beautiful park and fountains, a very short walk to the old town and beach. The roof top pool is small but great to cool off when enjoying the 360 degree views from the aqua bar. Room was very clean and comfortable, good air con and well stocked mini bar. We stayed in a deluxe room and we had a lovely view of the hillside behind the hotel. Staff very helpful and polite. I would definitely stay here in the future.

Just returned from 5 nights in Nice, staying at this hotel. Excellent location, within walking distance of Nice Old Town, Massena, the beach and transport links. Booked a room overlooking the park and wasn't disappointed, the views are stunning. The bar on the 7th floor offers some fabulous views day & night which we enjoyed. Undergoing renovations at present and a shame that the pool was closed when we stayed but staff courtesy and explanations kind of made up for this. We will definitely stay here again and wouldn't consider anywhere else. Room on 5th floor views over the fountains!

Room Tip: Higher up.
