“Great location, great hotel!”
Reviewed 26 May 2011

Thoroughly recommend the Villa Victoria. It's very well situated on a pleasant street within walking distance of almost everything you'd want to see in Nice. The Promenade des Anglais is only 10 mins stroll away, there are good cafes and restaurants even nearer, and the bustling old town is not much farther. Best of all is the lovely hotel garden, flowery and fragrant at this time of year.
Rooms are comfortable, very well air conditioned and maintained. The staff are all charming - we were caught with the latest ash cloud delays and they were very helpful. We didn't get the rather expensive breakfast (there are good options nearby) but you might think it worth it to eat sitting in the garden. In any case, you can enjoy free coffee and pastries there any afternoon, which is a delight.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay and hope to return: certainly we wouldn't choose any other hotel in Nice.

Room Tip: Well worth getting a garden room

Myself and my wife stayed 3 nights and the hotel was excellent. We were upgraded, at no extra cost, to a garden view room on the 3rd floor. Very nice view of the lovely gardens to the rear of the hotel and being able to sit there in the morning and eat breakfast was a big plus.
Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful at all times and allowed us to leave our bags safely on our last day as we had an evening flight ( much appreciated. ).
The location is ideal as it is only a short walk from the promenade and the shopping areas, including the old town.
The room was fine, flat screen tv with a few English-speaking channels, small fridge, and plenty of storage space.
Breakfast was continental and sufficient.
Overall great value for money considering the location ( Nice is not cheap, especially for visitors from the UK ).
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again if we ever return.

Room Tip: If you are celebrating a special event tell them!

Stayed here for 4 nights. This hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the main restaurant area which was great because it meant you could have a peaceful night. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, efficient and accommodating. The reception and breakfast room is bright and modern. The room was clean, had ample space for our belongings and provided an electronic safe, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent - lots to choose from and all you can eat - fruit, cereal, boiled eggs, bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, tea, coffee, orange juice. The free Nespresso and pastries between 2 and 7 each day in the lounge was a great touch. Free internet access was another bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 3 nights with a friend on a girlie half term break. The staff were fabulous, all so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and in a lovely airy breakfast room overlooking the courtyard garden. The room, though small, was spotlessly clean and fine - a good shower and plenty of hot water, plus tea and coffee making facilities which you don't often find in Europe. Location was perfect for both the Promenade des Anglais, and the old town.

Convenient location - about half way between the train station and the beach (just minutes to either on foot) and close to most of what matters for a short stay in Nice (e.g., boardwalk, flower market, yacht basin). Tree-lined avenue, lovely entrance and lobby, large back garden with gazebo we took to sitting in at the end of the day. Room was high-ceilinged with a cottagey-feel, spacious with a large closet. We didn't care for the red plush spread and curtains and would have liked a second chair for the price; but overall, we were happy with our choice. Didn't try the breakfast offered as an extra - instead explored the countless cafes and restaurants that were nearby.

A very good hotel, excellent breakfast and though we had a room on the ground floor facing the street it was very quiet! There is an outdoor back garden which is lovely to have your breakfast and the hotel is very close to promenade des Anglais! The hotel has only 4-5 parking spots and the price was a bit expensive (18 euros/per night) and you had to have asked for it, but dont worry! one street above the hotel there is a huge public parking where you can safely leave your car for half the price all day!

Staff were friendly and helpful.Location was excellent and the room was clean and adequate. The decor and carpets in the sleeping area could do with updating. The foyer was impressive and the complimentary afternoon coffee and croissants was most welcome. The coffee/tea facility in the bedroom was also a nice feature.Having the International Herald Tribune available each day was very much appreciated.Hotel is within easy walking distance of several good restaurants.
