The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the old town. Our room was on the street side. We could hear the guest in the next room getting sick all night starting at 3 a.m., then the police sirens were blaring at 4:30 a.m. The mattresses are covered in plastic, so we would wake up sweating. The hotel is nicely decorated and quaint. Espresso and cake was served in the lobby in the afternoon. I would not recommend this hotel for a good night's sleep, unless you book a room overlooking the garden.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden are quieter.

During our Med vacation , and cruise in October 2010 we had a budget for spending as we wanted to add several days to our stay on either end of the cruise. We had limited ourselves to $150 US per night for our stays in Paris, Nice, and Rome. Finding decent rooms in this price range can be quite clallenging. After searching hundreds of hotels, we finally decided on Villa Victoria for our Nice visit. Although not as elegant as the larger hotels that our friends were staying in, it was perfect. I wanted to experience real world French hospitality from a traditional hotel, rather than a fancy hotel chain( and I was streching cash). The Villa Victoria exceeded our expectations. A beatiful old building located perfect in Nice, and close to most attractions, as well as the beach. Beginning with the lobby you can feel that this well kept building had history. The staff was super pleasant, and helpful. American Airlines had lost one of our bags, and the staff helped get it delivered to our room when it arrived. There is a great garden outside the rear of the lobby. This is a nice place to relax with an espresso in the morning. The room on the 3rd floor overlooked the city, and was a wonderful view. It was large for Europe standards, and decor was nice. This hotel was our favorite on the trip, and we would definately stay there again when we are in Nice.

This hotel is in a great location, close to tons of restaurants, the old town and the water.

However the rooms are 3 star quality at best, tired furniture and dated decor. It was comfortable enough though for a one night, and the room was a decent size.

Hotel had free wireless which was nice but kind of annoying as you had to login each time you wanted to use it.

We didn't have breakfast, but the lobby and garden area looked quite nice.

This hotel was just lovely. Good sized room on ground floor but quiet. The breakfast room and garden was gorgeous and with loads of breakfast options. The hotels cat 'Victoria' kept us amused as she wondered keeping the pigeons away.. and waiting for a bit of sausage here and there. The staff were very helpful and organised a day trip with a pickup at the hotel.. it was only 2 blocks from the sea and surrounding streets had lots to offer for meals etc.. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back..

Room Tip: Our street side room was very quiet.

This is a beautiful little hotel. I was travelling with a group of 6 ladies. The only hiccup we had was on arrival when we were told that there was only one twin room available and we had booked three twin rooms but 4 of us had to share. All our rooms were on different floors but they were all different and were all beautiful. All had a useful fridge and two complimentary bottles of water which were useful. Our room overlooked the garden with a little balcony, which was lovely but our friends who had the city view room also had a lovely room. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and gave us some great recommendations. Would recommend visiting Castle Hill as the views from the waterfall are stunning! Would also recommend taking advantage of a trip being offered by the Hotel for half day visit to Monaco, Monte Carlo, Perfume Factory and Eze Village. We had a mini-bus with a driver to ourselves and it was a superb trip! We stayed at end of September and would recommend using mosi-plug ins and sprays as they are still about and I was bitten quite badly. Cant wait to come back and visit this hotel again !!!

Room Tip: Ask for a Garden Room if you can as the view is stunning !

Clean, very pleasant hotel. Had a quiet room facing the garden. excellent shower. windows can be opened if wanted. bed comforfable. useful to have fridge.
Comprehensive buffet continental breakfast 6.45.a.m_10.30.a.m.either in dining room or garden.
A few good cafes 5 minutes away on B. Victor Vugo. Hotel within easy distance to get to much of Nice & transport 10-15 minutes walk away.
Friendly & very helpful staff. Enjoyed our stay & would happily return again.

Room Tip: Overlooking the garden for a good quiet sleep

Delayed flight meant a landing 2 hours later than it should, and to make things worse, there we were, near midnight and our booked and paid-for taxi no-where to be seen.We thought we were victims of a scam=by=internet. Our greeting at Villa Victoria was warm and sympathetic, and the brilliantly helpful desk staff took over, and over the next 2 days pursued the company concerned and got us a complete refund We were amazed and delighted, but found this was only typical of them ,we also had excellent recommendations for food ,buses
theatre, and they willingly pursued tickets, taxis etcEveryone speaks of the rooms and the location, the garden and the breakfast[all really good]but for us a hotel is only as good as its staff and here they were outstanding
