“Excellent location”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

We booked this hotel after reading the excellent feedback on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. We had an early flight so got to the hotel about 11am and even though our room wasn't ready (we didn't expect it to be) they took our luggage and checked us in. We went back about 3pm and the room was ready and our luggage in the room waiting for us. The room was lovely, much bigger than expected with a large, spotless bathroom with bath and shower. We had a garden view and it was so peaceful we had a siesta after such an early start!!
The location is amazing, short walk to everything. We were only there two nights so walked to old town on first day and night (eat in carpe dium, old town, gorgeous!) and then walked short way to train station from hotel second day and caught train to Villefranche which is absolutely beautiful as well! The staff at the hotel were lovely and very friendly and breakfast was great, with so much choice.
Breakfast started at 6.45 so we could even enjoy this before our early return flight.
There are free coffee and pastries in the afternoon and I could access free wifi in our first floor room. On our first day we sat in the pretty suntrap garden after out siesta and had a couple of drinks (from local supermarket!) sat on the garden swing, it was just so relaxing!
This was a perfect escape for our first trip abroad without our little children, v romantic and relaxing. Nice is such a beautiful city, we've already booked again for June and friends have already booked this hotel after our recommendation.
Enjoy!

This hotel made our trip to Nice! From arriving we were treated very well by staff who were helpful through the stay, in particular, the friendly tall gentleman with glasses at reception. The room was lovely, complete with balcony and garden view. Breakfast was the perfect continental and was enjoyed in the garden with the company of lovely Victoria, the hotels cat. Nespresso machine and pastries during the day also. Great location and quiet at night, and also thanks to the lovely lady who printed out our boarding passes. I recommend this hotel 100%

Room Tip: Ask for a garden room with balcony

This is the 3rd stay we have had in this hotel.1st time as a 4*.We were disappointed we thought with the extra star the bathrooms which are very dated would have been updated,no such luck. The rooms are ok a little bit tired looking but acceptable. The reception staff not as helpful as we remembered. The garden is the biggest bonus of this hotel and having breakfast in it,which is good apart from the coffee which is out of a machine and very poor. The situation of the hotel is also handy for accessing most parts of nice.We expected more with the addition of an extra star.

We only stayed at the hotel for one night but wished it could have been longer. We arrived early but were welcomed by friendly, efficient reception staff who served us an excellent cup of coffee and croissants in the charming garden at the back of the hotel. This garden served as an oasis of calm when on a city break. Everything about the hotel was high quality. There was free coffee available to guests each afternoon, the breakfast was delicious and not overpriced as some hotel breakfasts in France tend to be and the room was excellent.
Well done to all involved!

Room Tip: We had 108 which was a spacious room with large windows overlooking the tree lined street at the fro...

We stayed at Hotel Villa Victoria for 3 nights in September 2013, Room 109.
Rooms are newly renovated, very clean, and modern, with signature towels, slippers, dressing gowns. Comfortable beds and pillows, beds quote low to ground.
Two doors, one to room then an internal door, which cuts any noise altogether.
Shower quite small, fresh towels and toiletries replaced each day if you so choose.
Air conditioning works well, and our room overlooked the garden/ breakfast area, with large double opening windows and shutters which could also be opened.
Great breakfast, lots of choices, with fresh juices and fruits in abundance.
Lovely little coffee spot for afternoon tea and pastry, adjacent to the Reception area, free of charge.
Perfect location, a 750M downhill walk from the train station, on only one street, although if leaving by train, then it is uphill you go, or they do have a special whereby a car will take you for around €15.
Easy 5-10 minute walking distance to Promenade and many of the hotels and restaurants, with magnificent views over the beach and surrounds
Self serve laundromat 2 blocks away - Cost approx. €5.50 for a 7kg load
Would stay here again definitely.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking garden at back of hotel for quietness and view

The hotel is ideally situated being a short walk from the beach, the main square and the railway station. Our room at the back corner was spacious, exceptionally so for Nice, and quiet. It was well equipped having a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee, exceptionally in our experience, in addition to a television which had English language channels, and air conditioning. The beds were comfortable, and the room kept clean The decoration was both attractive and interesting. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly with small requests like printing our boarding passes. The breakfast was fresh and offered a wide variety of choice. Staying there was a totally enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: The garden side is quiet and the view attractive. The corner rooms are particularly spacious.

I've been to many hotels worldwide, and this is one of the larger ones in Europe. Stayed in room 207 facing the Garden. It was quiet and had a small balcony to step out onto.

The room is spacious enough for me to do yoga in the hallway. Clean place. Can tell the building has been there a while, as there's some structural wear and tear, but nothing too busy looking.

We had a car, so parked in the parking lot in front that holds about 6 cars. Only challenge is that there's a chain gate that needs to be controlled by front desk to let us out.

Location is perfect. 10 min walk to beachfront on very flat land. We walked to the Old Town, but actually liked the town before the Old Town and closer to the hotel. We walked back late at night and felt safe.

(Side note: Try Cafe de Nice - great restaurant, large portions, good wine at reasonable price. It was difficult to choose amongst the touristy restaurants, but this was authentic. Avoid restaurants that have picture, are in English, or have more than 30 dishes on their menu.)

Hotel offers Nespresso coffee from 2-7pm. Didn't take too much advantage of it, as we were usually out and about around that time. Also, coffee was better taken seated, and we aren't the sitting in the hotel and drinking coffee type. Hotel also offered small plain and chocolate croissants around 5pm. It went fast, so get there quick.

Staff friendly and speak English well.

Rating:
4 star - location
4 star - staff
3 star - room (large, but has seen better days)
3 star - parking (available, but cumbersome with chain)

Room Tip: ask for one towards garden, as it's away from busy street
