Stayed here during Monaco Grand Prix weekend so rooms more expensive than usual but that is what all the hotels do for this weekend. Paid 180euros for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and 140 euros for Monday night. We were upgraded to a Garden room at no extra cost and although the room (109) was small it was fine for sleeping and showering which is all we needed it for. One problem was noise from neighbouring rooms bathrooms. Every time the toilet was flushed it sounded like Niagara Falls and woke me up. Breakfast was on the expensive side at 15 euros per person for a buffet continental. Easy walking distance to train station, sea front and shopping areas.

We stayed at the Villa Victoria in April, 2010. It was what I had expected from the reviews on Trip Advisor. The rooms were quite small, but extremely clean. Do NOT expect the balconies to be large. The bed was very comfortable and the front desk staff were absolutely amazing and went completely out of their way to help you. The internet kiosk was very small and always very busy. IF you are a smoker, please do not stay at this hotel. The last night of our stay, we were awakened by the fire alarm at 1 am. One of the guests were smoking in their room which set the alarm off. We no sooner got back into bed and 30 minutes later it went off again. It was the same people in the same room we found out. I had a wake up call at 4:45 am as we had to catch an early flight. I was in the shower and at 5:00 am the fire alarm went off again. We rushed downstairs only to find it was once again the same people smoking in their rooms. My thoughts to these people are you are extremely rude and inconsiderate. This hotel offers a lovely garden where you can sit outside and smoke anytime you want. Why would you be so inconsiderate of others not once, but three times. I was disappointed with the staff at this point, as if that would have been Canada, they would have been asked to leave. So, again to all you smokers, if you stay at this hotel, go outside and smoke instead of trying to hide it in your room!

Were stayed at this hotel for eleven nights and chose it due to location, reviews on trip advisor and value.
My husband and I wanted to explore the French Riviera on our own, using only public transportation. We found that the location of this hotel was perfect, since the train station was within about a ten minute walk. The bus station was easily connected to by tram, with the nearest tram stop being about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. If you are into walking (as we are), you can walk to the bus station, as it is about a little over a mile away. The walk to Old Town is about a mile and the walk to Promenade des Anglais is about three blocks. We got a lot of exercise, but enjoyed it!
Upon checking into the hotel, we were pleased to get an early check in (which I had requested - was also due to availability) since we had arrived on an overnight flight from the states. Our room was small and quite ordinary, but it had a balcony overlooking the garden in back, which was rather quaint. Coming from the US, I am comparing it by different standards, as European hotel rooms are smaller and more basic. However, it was very clean, and were were very comfortable in it. We had paid for an upgrade to a garden view room, since previous reviews had complained about traffic noise from the street. Because we like fresh air at night, we left our balcony doors open while sleeping, and seemed to notice quite a bit of traffic noise. Remember, this hotel is in a very busy city!
We declined the breakfast at the hotel because it seemed overpriced. We set out early each day for our destination and enjoyed a late breakfast or early lunch once we arrived. The Villa Victoria provides coffee and pastries in the lobby during the afternoon, and it was a welcome touch upon returning to the hotel at the end of a busy day of sightseeing.
Three things worth mentioning:
On a previous trip to Europe (Portugal, 2003), our hotel room was burglarized, and we lost all of our possessions. This experience has left us with a very uneasy feeling about travel. I was so impressed about this hotel's security system. When you leave the hotel, you turn in your key. When you return, you reclaim your key. It is a small hotel. They know everyone and know who is coming and going. There is a secure safe in each room. This meant so much to us!
When you purchase train tickets from the machine, unless you have a credit card with a "euro chip", you have to use cash. By cash, they mean COINS! Make sure that you start collecting coins everywhere possible if you plan on usings the trains a lot. Most places that advertise "change" will only give you about 5 euros at a time. Trust me, we learned the hard way!
Finally, I do want to say that the staff at the Villa Victoria will make your stay special. They are very professional, helpful and courteous. Everyone made our stay so comfortable.

The hotel was very convenient for the bus from the hotel, being a 10 minute walk from the stop on Promenade des Anglaise. Very helpful and friendly reception staff make you feel welcome and the free coffee and pastries help too!

The room was on the garden side and was a lovely touch to have an orange tree growing just outside the window. The rooms are an average size with good enough space and the bathroom was good with an excellent power shower(always good for a city break!)

Breakfast was excellent and included in the price. It would probably be good value if paid for extra as the choice was good and you could eat as much as you want.

Finally, the location of the hotel is good as it is on a pleasant boulevard just 10 minute walk max. from the Place Massena and 15 minutes from the old town. It seemed an advantage to be away from the buzz of the old town at times.

All in all it was a great place to stay for the weekend and would be highly recommended for the relative price versus other Nice hotels.

We have been to Nice several times and used different hotels each time. However, we stayed at the Villa Victoria on Boulevard Victor Hugo and will definitely be going back there. The room was really nice and the bed very comfortable. It was nice to get a proper double bed rather than two singles pushed together. The staff were really helpful. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. We couldn't actually find anything wrong with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone who's thinking of going to Nice. It was also ideally located - Five minutes to the beach and the tram was also at the end of the road.

I have stayed in several hotels in Nice but this is by far the best yet. The staff are very polite and helpful and speak good english. The room was clean and had a nice bathroom and a view over Victor Hugo which is one of the main streets in Nice and very central for the beach and shops. Breakfast was great too -lots of choice and plenty to eat! Nice garden at the back which I am sure will be lovely in the summer but we went in March. I will always try to stay here from now on.

Good location, with walking distance to everything you need in Nice. Nice, little hotel with ok service. Particularly liked the garden - must be lovely in the summer. Rooms are not very large, but they are clean and with good amenities from Yves Rocher.
Good value hotel, close to everything but yet relaxed. Get a room towards the garden, I litterally had an orange tree coming in my window.
