My family of four stayed in the NH Nice over the Easter weekend. The room was a suite with a separate bedroom and a sofa-bed. The bed was comfortable but the sofa-bed was not. The bedroom was basic but fine.
The room on the third floor was right beside the lift but was not as noisy as we expected it would be. We did ask to change away from the lift shaft but we were informed that all family suites were beside the lifts.
Breakfast was €15 per person so would have cost us €60 per day for the four of us. We declined breakfast and instead ate breakfast at the cafe (Les Hussards) across the road from the hotel entrance for a more more acceptable €24 for bacon, eggs, bread and coffee. A continental breakfast was less than this in the cafe.
The pool opened the weekend we were there and was absolutely freezing cold. However this would be lovely during the warmer summer months and a real bonus to the hotel.
We got the bus from the airport which let us out at the train/bus station (Gare de Riquier) less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel. This was an inexpensive way to get from the airport into Nice. You can also get the train from this station for a visit to Monte Carlo or San Remo in Italy. There is a tramline right in front of the hotel which is also handy for travel.
A Carrefore supermarket and a shopping centre is 5 minutes walk from the hotel and its a very walkable distance down Avenue de la Republique to the old town and the promenade.

My family (4 adults) stayed from 10 to 12 May 2014 in NH Hotel's family room. The room was spacious and rather clean (though the toilet had a difficult knob). One of the beds was comfortable. However, a big no-no was the ridiculously tough sofa bed, which felt as if it was spoilt, with the springs almost jutting out of the bed and the mattress sinking in deep in the middle. We were lucky that we only had to bear with the sofa bed for 2 nights.

On hindsight, the food served at the restaurant was fantastic. We were especially impressed with the ravioli mushroom which was of a rather large portion. Eating at the restaurant is recommended as the price was ok.

we had a wonderful 3 night stay at this hotel.
The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly.
The location was excellent, with the tram system less than 100 mts from the front door.
the swimming pool on the roof was VERY nice.
we have been 3 times, and will definitely return.

booked by work- 180euro per night for one person, this was inclusive of breakfast however on check out was recharged 15 euro's for breakfast - this is for 5 nights.
when confronted they claimed it was policy due to cancelation policy that if cancelled breakfast would not be wasted- sorry not really a relevant explanation to me. if the room is booked with breakfast then i should;t be paying twice for it- it is as simple as that!

Stayed for a business trip. ideally sited for the acropolis conference centre. Comfortable business hotel, with some modern design touches, with good service and breakfast. Internet was free but this was a very slow version and it was 10 euro for a reasonable speed version.

Pros: great location for the tram and access from the airport. Easy 15mins stroll to the old town and Promenade des Anglais.

Cons: rock hard beds and pillows (latter can be changed at reception). Air Conditioning not on, even in May, breakfast buffet is a scrum, pool closed, rooms tired.

Now, I should explain that I did not pay for this trip as I tagged along with my wife on a business trip so, on one hand I have nothing to complain about and on the other no axe to grind - take this review as you will ;o)

We arrived at 11am and because we asked for a double rather than the allocated twin we had to wait until 3pm for access to our room. People we travelled with got their rooms there and then. Not a major issue other than my wife had to use the spa to change in for her afternoon meeting - spa is tiny BTW.

On our first morning we asked for softer pillows and that the air conditioning be turned on. The latter received an audible laugh from reception. It is too early in the season for it to be on, apparently. That day it was 18'C and even the Days Inn at Gatwick the day before had the in room air con working. The duly promised alternative, a fan, arrived at 5pm that day ;o(

Breakfasting at 7:45am was an experience best described as a scrum. The buffet is small and at this time there were no plates, cups or hot items available. The breakfast continues through to 10am so hardly a great start.

On our second day (first experience of room keeping) the room was not made up when we returned at 4pm. In fairness housekeeping did clean it within 10mins of seeing us return. On our second day it was cleaned at 10am. Our our final morning housekeeping gave two knocks at 9am then immediately entered the room uninvited! Astonishing.

We went for our final breakfast (a Saturday) at 8:30am, not a single table was set although only 5 tables were actually occupied. The staff laid the tables on a per guest basis ;o( Again breakfast continued until 10am so......seems a habit.

If we had paid ourselves we couldn't in all honesty recommend this hotel. And, even as a 'freebie' it's tough to say anything too positive.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the square for good views of mountain
