The Hotel Nice Riveria is a 4* Hotel in the heart of the city.
The main shopping area is a few streets away (max 5 minute walk) and the Promenade de Anglais is about 10 minute walk away.

The hotel itself has several amenities, however as we stayed on a room only rate, we did not use the restaurant facilities. The staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and always served with a smile. One reception team member was very good a remembering which room we were in.

Our room on the second floor was spacious, comfortable with plenty of storage space. The room does have a television with very limited English channels. The radio stations must be paid for. The room does have a safe, which is free to use.
The bathroom was roomy and the shower was powerful, which is always welcome. The bathroom comes with some complimentary toiletries. Only downside, the bath towels were very small, so you may want to take your own larger towels.

The hotel does have a list of bookable excursions to the Riveria and they offer a pre-bookable private taxi service to the Airport for €30. The driver we had was very friendly, a credit to this service.

Dear guest,

Thank you for having taken time to post a comment on TripAdvisor.

We would like to inform you that we have now more foreign channels on TV.
Regarding towels in the bathroom, we are sorry that they were an inconvenience for you and we hope that reception and the housekeeper gave you larger ones.

We look forward to welcoming you again at the Nice Riviera hotel.

Very clean. Good location being close to all transport links, as we wanted to visit Cannes and Monaco. We were on the 6th floor, and the room was relatively spacious but was clean and tidy. The staff were courteous and polite.
Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice, ranging from cereal to a small selection of hot food.

This hotel is located very close to Place Massena, is modern, has good quality beds and reasonable bathrooms. However, You may say why only an average rating?

Well, on arrival we were greeted by a very pre-occupied young man on reception.

We went to our superior room on the 5th floor, it was disappointing, with dull lighting, dark ochre walls, red bedding and a very small window which overlooked the back of the hotel and roof of the swimming pool.
We went to freshen up, the bathrrom was clean and tidy, but dark also in decor, shower over the bath. We found the showere was not a power shower and was difficult to get a hot shower on some mornings.
We looked for the bottled water which we read was part of the superior room, on finding none provided, we called reception and asked for some, but were told quite curtly that the water was safe to drink from the tap and that we didn't need bottled water! I was agast really, and explained that I did not ever use tap water whilst abroad and especially in France which had a big outbreak of gastric enteritis during the period of our stay.
We also noticed that even though there was a kettle there was only cream, for the coffee, so if you wanted milk in your tea you had to phone down for that also.

The house keeping did turn out to be a bit faulty towers.

The people on reception for the most part were kind and helpfull, unless you requested something and then they told you you did not need it, and gave the impression it was too much trouble for them.
Not really what you expect from a four star hotel.
When we arrived the heating was on full blast, it was so overpowering and even with the window open was hot all night, and made for an uncomfortable sleep.
The rooms have bamboo wood flooring which is really nice, however, the noise of the furniture moving about on the floor above woke us up constantly for two nights and mornings over the week-end, we complained and were moved to the sixth floor to a lovelly room overlooking the street, with patio doors and a small balcony. this was really nice for our last two days and we were grateful to the south- african lady and the Swedish lady who arranged it.
The breakfast was good, with lots of choice, but do not go too late or you may find the selection reduced.
WiFi in the hotel is Ok, but you do not have free Wifi in the rooms which was a shame.
TV.
The weather was pretty awful for our visit and so we were in the room quite a bit, but the only english channel was France 24 news, and we grew very bored with it.
In respect of location, this hotel can not be faulted, and the shopping is great in Nice. The sea front is a five minute walk, and the daily market the same; as is the old town.

You can get the tram from just below the train station to all over Nice and pay just one euro per trip.

The food was Ok, quite expensive though. We found the little place across the road from the hotel, the cafe Olympia, good for simple lunch or evening meal. The omlette was good and so also the chips, which were home made and delicious. The Italian restaurant opposite the hotel front door (Baie de Angeles) was overpriced and the food very sustandard. We had lunch there on sunday and felt very ripperd off.
There are lots of places to eat at the place Massena, in particular, you could try Villa D'este no 6 place Massena, make sure you are very hungry, as the portions are huge, and the pizza also the size of a very large plate.
The lasagne was large enough to feed at least three people. You do not need two courses here, and the quality is very good too. I could not help but think that this restaurant must have huge wastage, as most people just could not finish their meals, and saddened also when there were so many homeless people sleeping rough only a100 yards from the place under the arches in the square.
Perhaps this restaurant and the other three under the same ownership might consider helping the homeless by giving the customers a little less, and on the saving they make, feed those less fortunate.

We´ve just come back from a trip to Nice. Staying at the Nice Riviera Hotel is very recommendable! The staff is very friendly and supportive regarding reservations of restaurants etc.- the rooms are clean and calm, although the hotel is located only few steps away from the old town! Due to the parking facilities, the hotel is also a good option for those planning daytrips to Monaco, Cannes, Antibe, Grasse etc. in their own car.

My two sons(13 and 15yo) and I, were there over Christmas, for 4 days. We loved it! Very helpful and polite staff. Good spacious bedroom and great bathroom. Super location...we walked late at night and felt very safe. Close to the beach and restaurants. The best McDonald's ever....right around the corner....the boys loved. The breakfast was great... many different types of bread, pastries, eggs, bacon, fruits....very good. They do have an inside pool, but we didn't use it . We enjoy their lobby very much...it was the first time ever that we sat in a hotel lobby and stayed there. The boys played card and we did it couple of times....it was very relaxing. I recommend Hotel Nice Riviera...We had a great time.

Stayed here for four nights over Christmas. It was brilliant. Helpful and friendly staff. Very well positioned for the Old Town, Place Massena and all the bus stops. 1 Euro takes you anywhere - Monte Carlo, Cannes, ... There is a Casino supermarket very close to the hotel.
Breakfast was an extensive buffet including cold meats, cheese, fruit etc plus hot scrambled eggs and bacon.
Lovely Fragonard toiletries.
Room slightly small but sixth floor rooms have quite a large balcony which would be useful in the summer ( didn't get used much over Christmas)
Excellent hotel - would highly recommend it.
