I stayed with a friend and we both had a lovely experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we both felt very welcome! The room is very small, it was fine for us as we only needed it for sleeping, however if you are planning on spending long periods of time in the room then you may be be a tad cramped.

The breakfast was very nice, the only hot food was scrambled eggs and the coffee was from a machine rather than proper coffee.

The hotel is in a perfect location for sightseeing, it is on a quiet street so we got a good night's sleep every night.

We would definitely return to Boreal!!

I booked this hotel based on price and location, both excellent in central Nice. When we arrived the charming receptionist gave us a choice of two rooms and sent us to look for ourselves! Our room was LOVELY, a large twin room with French doors onto a Juliette balcony overlooking a quiet street . It even had a table and chairs for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles! All very tastefully decorated. The location was amazing, just off the tram route and the main shopping street, and a short stroll to the main square and the old town restaurants. We did not have breakfast as there was so much choice around. I would recommend this hotel as fantastic value in a great location in a lovely city! FAB

Room Tip: Any rooms on the front second floor are large and have large windows. The A/C in ours was really quiet. We were offered a far smaller room at the back, which was dark with a small window.

We stayed for 6 nights in this well located hotel, just a minute's walk away from the tram, the large NIcetoile shopping centre, small convenience store, bakery and 3 restaurants next door. Then only 10-15 minutes walk away from the rail station, old town, sea side promenade, the main shopping street and for us, the main Carnaval Procession Square. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room 507 was in the extended part to the right, which being 3 floors but does not have any lift access. The rest of the hotel does however. It was a large comfortable room, clean, with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, flat screen tv and a newly refurbished bathroom. Breakfast was sometimes a bit hectic as it was Carnaval season and the hotel was full of coach parties, so as long as you kept to your recommended time which was posted on the wall it wasn't too bad. And it was surprisingly quiet considering the location so close to a busy thoroughfare. We slept with the window open and were not disturbed at all.

Room Tip: Rooms numbers 500+ do not have lift access.

The hotel has acquired and absorbed the Hotel Athena next door, so it is bigger than it appears from the outside.
It is well located on a quiet side street just off the Avenue Jean Medecin; about half-way between the railway station and the sea front, both of which are 10-15 minutes walk away or a short ride on the trams (which get close to the sea-front but do not actually run along it.)

The rooms vary in size, but are well decorated and clean. Some of the wiring is strange: it is sometimes necessary to switch on the bedside lamps to get the adjacent power sockets to work. The air conditioning units have an irritating flashing light when on standby, but they can be switched right off.
There appears to be a finite amount of hot water: at times it can run out in the bedrooms. Free Wifi is provided.

There is a breakfast room, but no dinner is usually served. The breakfast is adequate. There is also a small bar with a limited selection of drinks served by the reception staff on request.

The staff are friendly and try to assist where they can, but house-keeping could be improved to ensure essential bathroom supplies do not run out.

Stayed here for 2 nights last week. The hotel is very well located, being roughly midway between the rail station and the old town. It is only a 10 minute walk or so to the station and a little more to the old town and Promenade des Anglais. The tram passes close to the hotel and offers an alternative means of reaching the station, the old town and the Promenade. We had a suoerior double room on the first floor at the front of the hotel. The room was an adequate size though by no means large. The bathroom was compact but functional, assuming you are not 6 feet tall and have a preference for baths rather than showers. That said, the shower function of the bath/shower worked well enough. Breakfast was adequate rather than special and costs an extra 11 euros per person per day. This means that breakfast for 2 comprises almost 20% of the total room+breakfast rate. The staff were friendly and helpful. Despite the minor niggles, I would recommend this hotel for its location and generally reasonable rates. It would be good to see a breakfast inclusive rate that is more economical (for instance, Holiday Inn will add full buffet breakfast for 2 for around £10 per night).
