Fantastic location

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks agovia mobile
Spent a few days here, arrived very early and they did well to get our room a couple hours early, the Reception lady was very helpful. The older guy storing our luggage was very knowledgeable about where to go , eat and what to see , he really was an excellent member of staff.
We got a voucher each for a drink at the bar, thought that was very nice however neither of us drink Prosecco , we asked if we could use 2 vouchers for a glass of wine and my husband would buy his own rum, the younger guy asked someone else , he tried but was not allowed, bit silly as we would probably say for a couple of drinks before going out for dinner.
The room was spacious and clean , had a side view of the sea, lovely. Only thing I missed was outside space, the bar area is enclosed with glass , nice views but would prefer to sit outside.
The location perfect, opposite the sea , walk out the door and turn left to the old town, all walkable and easy to get to the train station. We took the train to Monte Carlo , only 40 minutes. We never ate there, too many excellent places to eat just outside, also looked a fair bit more expensive than others around. Lovely little break.

Room Tip: Don’t get a taxi from airport, double the price of the Uber on the return journey.

Having eaten here in December 2023 we knew what to expect & weren't disappointed 👍.
Excellent 😋 & VFM pre booked 3 course lunch which left all 11 of us replete .
Warmly greeted, well served & not rushed.
Even if you aren't tempted to stay here, definitely tempt your taste buds..👍

Will never stay again. Paid for “superior room” with “sea view. What a joke. First floor very small room overlooking a roof and at mostly trees. Can’t sleep because of street noise, and despite what Orbitz says, there is no air! Room is ridiculously hot. Front deck staff was rude and dismissive when we complained.

Room tip: I’d never go back..

Thank you for taking your time to send us your comments.
Being located on the famous Promenade des Anglais, it tends to sometimes be lively with a lot of activity, we are sorry that this was not up to your liking.
As per the sea view, we are quite surprised since this is the first time we receive this sort of feedback. The adjectives we have always received are “breathtaking” or “unbelievable”, and the list goes on.
Concerning the air conditioning, it is difficult to accommodate to the likings of all our guests during the mid-season. During the period of your stay, we chose to keep the heating as the temperature in Nice was relatively low (average between 15 and 18 degrees Celsius) and the majority of our guests felt that heating was more adapted to the weather.

Hotel is well located at the Promenade des Anglais with beautiful sea views. Lots of restaurants and shop near by. The room was a bit on the small side but ok.Bathroom was ok.
Ask for a room on the sea side, it’s a bit noisy but the views are breathtaking.
Breakfast was good. All staff were really friendly, especially the concierges, they were most helpful.
I am using wheelchair and one of the reasons we chose this hotel was that there was an elevator from street level to reception level. During our 3-night stay it worked once. Luckily I can descend/ascend a few steps with a good handrail and some human help.
Yes, there was a back door to the backyard but it was hard for a wheelchair with many corners and a dangerous, steep ramp.

Enjoyed drinking sparkling wine on our terrace overlooking the very azure sea and the Baie des Anges. Good breakfast; helpful staff especially with luggage. 48 hours unbroken sunshine Temperatures 21-23 at the end of March. Paradise ! Struggled a bit with air con.

Room tip: Splurge on a sea view especially out of season

We had a really wonderful stay at the Westminster Hotel & Spa. We had a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony. It had nice seats outside where we could watch the sunset and the sea. The room was big, had a nice bathroom and was really clean. It was a bit loud (road noise) at night but it's manageable and kind of what I was expecting. It was great to be right by the promenade and able to walk over to stroll along the sea. There were lots of restaurants and shops really close. It was a little bit far (20-25 min) from old town but it's all a nice, flat walk. The staff was really kind and helped us store our bags on the day we checked out.

Room tip: balcony is wonderful if you can get one!
