I concur with the other reviewers - this hotel is a great little find in Nice. It manages to mix urban style (absolutely loved the Tintin posters on the stairs) with a classic and homely French hotel.

The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly, the location perfect (stone's throw from the beach club which I didn't have time to try; an easy walk to the station, even with bags in summer). I met-up with some local friends in the garden and they too were impressed.

I wasn't overwhelmed by Nice, but the hotel was great.

We were able to walk the 6 blocks or so down from Nice Ville station after getting off the TGV.

There are many restaurants within walking distance, some which start as little as 1 or 2 blocks away, then the main restaurant strip is about 5 minutes walk. Only a few blocks down to the beach too.

This is a relatively populated area and felt safe walking around well after dark (in the low tourist season where things are quieter).

The room itself had a nice vibe with artistic walls, big enough to have a small table and of note was excellent water pressure in the shower.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Nice at a good price.

The only problem we found was that the heater system in the room was very warm and dried the air out considerably. However, I didn't ask reception about this, so maybe the heaters can been turned down somehow.

The hotel is conveniently situated for walking to Nice's many attractions yet quiet enough to avoid most of the city's noise. We upgraded to an Intimite room on the fourth floor facing south which we found to be more to our conservative decorative taste but which also included a really good bath tub. We enjoyed the dining experience with a good choice of imaginative food and although it was fairly quiet, it made it easier to strike up conversations with other guests. We found all staff at reception and in the dining room to be very helpful, polite and informative. Buses (one Euro!) and trains (with concessions where appropriate) are close by and worth using for excursions along the stunning coast and up to the hilltop villages. Overall an enjoyable experience which we would like to repeat perhaps another year.

Room Tip: Ask to see a couple of rooms especially if you need one as quiet as possible like us. Check out the...

We first stayed here in July 2011 when the small pool and lush garden was a godsend after walking miles in the summer heat. This time a different season, but same lovely visit. We had a Privilege room again (358), gorgeous high ceilings, two set of tall french windows onto the balcony, over looking the tree tops and surrounding roof tops. It was bliss to sit here in the warm sun :0) You enter the room into a small hall - loo is on the right and stoned tiled bathroom on the left. The bath was great for me (5ft 2in person) but not so great for my husband who is nearly a foot taller! Then there is another door into the bedroom - this gives extra sound proofing from any noise in the hall. Rm 358 has a cupboard between it and the lift so there will be people passing but the enclosed hall lessens any noise. I think the only change to the room from our previous visit was the TV - trendy mirror TV that had 2 English channels; channel 4 and Film4 (BBC news and CNN came up then said "no signal" but I didn't need them as I used free wifi to check on news / weather). We didnt use the sauna but the website says its 15 euros for 30 mins, will investigate next time. We loved our stay and will be back.

This was a small hotel of character well positioned for the sea, Old Town and station.

The staff were courteous, the bedroom and small shower room were clean; there was free WiFi. I did not have time to use the spa facilities as the weather was perfect for walking in bright sky-blue winter conditions. The jungle garden was quiet and immaculate with an outdoor unheated pool, so ideal to put up my feet once I had finished pounding the streets for sights.

Had great time at the Opera, the opening of Carnival and visiting the Chagall Museum and wonderful Nicoise restaurants.
The hotel had excellent breakfast and dinner facilities: the fire was lit over dinner, which made it very cosy.

The art work was interesting and I particularly liked the " rocket launch" commentary in the lift!

Room Tip: My room was quiet even though it was on the first floor and looked over a busy street. I presume th...

A well-located, smallish hotel 200 metres back from the seafront. 'Themed' as an art hotel - not always a success, and might get on some people's nerves. We were shown a room covered in lurid graffiti - opted instead for one with a naive whole-wall painting of jungle with naked lady.
Washbasin (in-room) dernier cri in design but it was difficult to turn the taps - typical of the hotel. The lift loudspeaker does a rocket launch routine - amusing once, therefter less and less so. No 'do not disturb' sign in room, internal barring didn't work, and maid walzed in without knocking at 8.10 am.
All that said, a clean and comfortable hotel in a good location. Staff were helpful and polite. And the dinner was really excellent. The dining room is not very atmospheric (this was indoors, in winter), but the food carefully-presented and full of flavour. Try the mezzaluna pasta with white truffle sauce - aromatic and flavourful, the equal of dishes we have had in much grander establishments.
For the price and location, a pretty good bet for a visit to Nice.

Room Tip: They showed us two rooms - worth asking to see more than one as some are a bit quirky!

I few blocks up from the water in a very pretty area the streets around the hotel are maintained beautifully. The hotel has a largish lobby, a small bar/breakfast area and friendly helpful staff. The room we had was a good size double with the window overlooking the street, the bathroom was small but clean. What we really loved about this hotel was the garden / restaurant it’s just the perfect setting to unwind in the evening (or anytime for that matter) with a drink from the bar or a meal from the restaurant. Lots of greenery, bird cages, funky furniture…… such a relaxing place. They’d had storms the night before we arrived so all internet and Wi-Fi was out the 3 days we stayed but through no fault of the hotel so still top marks on this wonderful little hotel in this pretty little city.

Room Tip: Take the stairs to your room - Tin Tin lives!
