“Excellent located but expensive parking fees in the near”
Reviewed 3 September 2010

The Little Palace hotel is excellently located very near to the city centre of Nice. In a few minutes you reach the "Promenade des Anglais" and the sea. Front desk receptionists are not so friendly if you don´t speak French. Rooms are large enough and the bathroom is also good. We got one room street facing view and we could see the sea from our balcony. Breakfast price is too expensive and we walked to the bakery next door, there are many options. It is very bad that the hotel doesn´t have parking for guests or even a cooperation with any garage in the near! You will never find a parking space on the street, so be prepared to spent a lot of money per day in this matter.

The hotel is situated in a small but cosy building, which is a few minutes walk away from Nice city center and from the city beach. The room was in excellent condition and featured a small balcony facing the street. The reservation did not include breakfast, however there was a cafe-bar in the corner and a supermarket beside the hotel. The hotel does not have a garage. There was a public parking (quite expensive though) a couple blocks away.

The rooms were incredibly quiet, and the air conditioning kept us cool despite the +30 temperatures in Nice. The beds were very comfortable. The location was great because it was halfway between the rail station and the beach. There is a grocery store right next door.

We loved Nice, and the Little Palace was one of the reasons for that. Cute little hotel ideally located within easy walking distance of the beach, the great restaurants in the old city, and the cheap airport bus. Not luxurious but comfortable and priced right. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. Fun neighborhood to walk around in.

Hotel Little Palace is very convenient to the train station, the ocean, the pedestrian area, and old town. We stayed in a quad room. Quads are usually pretty tight and this was no exception. The room and bathroom were very clean. The tub had a shower nozzle on a hose. We were loving the room darkening shades! The mattresses were acceptably comfortable. I would stay at Little Palace again.

We stayed at the Little Palace in mid-January (low season) and you can't beat the price at 40 euros/night for a double (Venere.com)! It is the perfect place to stay if you plan on visiting other towns/cities by train! It's about a 5-7 mins walk from the train station and 7-10 mins walk from Place Massena. We were plesantly surprised on the size of the bedroom. We expected a much smaller room. The only negative thing was the shower would overflow. It took us a couple of times to figure out how to ensure it stopped overflowing (even though the shower pressure was perfect!). Don't put the water at the highest pressure and face the shower head upright. I hope I explained it properly. Anyway we highly recommend this hotel and would definately come back because of the amazing hotel rate!

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and had a quite pleasant stay, besides a few issues throughout our time there.
The staff were quite average and unpleasant at times, no where near as willing to help as other hotel staff around Europe.
The shower was rediculous and would only be suitable for a child or very short person. We had to kneel down to shower, to avoid water going everywhere.
One night the power went out in our room so we had to call reception and were told the owner wasnt there and that we would have to wait about 10 minutes with no power When he finally came he was extremely abrupt and gave us no apology and made out as if it was our fault it went out.
We had a bag of clothing in the bathroom which was taken by the cleaner one day, so we had to call reception again who were very unfriendly and were going to tell us there was nothing they could do about it. Eventually they arranged for it to be brought back up to our room with no apology.
There is a supermarket next door which was handy (a little bit pricey) and the train station is within really close walking distance. There is a large shopping area to the right of the train station down a large street, with many fast food chains, various italian, french and asian restaurants and pizza and kebab shops.
A visit to Monaco (by train) is a must. Le Jardin De Exotique (a gorgeous cactus garden in Monaco) is beautiful and provides beautiful photo opportunities, especially on a sunny day!
