Nice collection of (local) modern art and a top collection of Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely.
The terrace on the 4th floor is great, with a nice circular walk packed with modern art and great views of the city and it is free as well!

This is a lovely building in a wonderful setting. Its easy to navigate around, cool on a hot summers day, and full of interesting things to look at. I particularly enjoyed the posters advertising Nice as a tourist destination in the early 20th century. The gardens are very pretty and there is a small but good quality gift shop.

This museum is in a beautiful building with wonderful exhibits of old Nice. Most incredible are the Napoleonic items. Josephine's Inaugural Cloak an personal articles that belonged to Napoleon. There is much to see that really gives the history of Nice and the South of France. Worth going to see.

This lovely, richly decorated building was free to get in and definitely worth a visit. We walked past the building almost every day of our holiday without realising what beautiful pieces of history were inside! I particularly liked the colourful, original art works advertising the ‘Fetes De Nice’ in the early 1900s. The artefacts pertaining to Napolean were also very interesting. Definitely a museum worth visiting.

This museum has been wonderfully restored and redecorated and shouldn't be missed. Like us you may not know much or anything about Massena but viewing the place will make you want to know more. However it is the décor, furnishing, and art within the place which are so impressive.
There is some memorabilia related to Bonaparte which is fascinating and an art exhibition on the top floor with some very good art, particularly related to Nice. One of the attendants was especially helpful in explaining the significance of the place (his English was impeccable). Afterwards we sat in the beautifully restful and well tended garden, glad that we had made this visit
