“Wonderful stairway”
Review of Palais Lascaris

Such a great opportunity to see, for free, what an old Nice villa actually looks like from the inside. The stairway is remarkable as is the collection of old musical instruments. About half the rooms still retain some character from the past such as decorated and painted ceilings, beautiful doorways and doors. And did I mention, it's free??

My husband and I are not musicians but this amazing display of old instruments kept us spellbound for over an hour. And all is displayed in this incredibly beautiful ancient villa in the old town of Nice. You should not miss this incredible museum.

The good: Free entry!
The bad: Not suitable for those with limited mobility.
The bonus: A lovely collection of instruments, great if you are mad about mandolins.

The Palais Lascaris is one of the more underrated attractions in Nice, considering it was our second visit and we had never heard of it before. There are leaflets printed in various languages, describing the history of the building, which makes the attraction very tourist-friendly. The chapel is beautiful - a must-see.

We came across this little building when walking through the old town and went in for a look around as it was free. Must say we weren't expecting much but it was actually very interesting. The information cards were in English as well as French, which of course helped. Watch where you walk though, because some steps between rooms are not marked.

This not so ancient palace has nothing special to remember, if you are in the premises and you have nothing else to do take a look inside (it's free) but without big expectations.
Just for a rainy day.
