“Best view in Nice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

This was our first time in Nice for our 30th anniversary and we picked Hotel Suisse after doing lots of research and talked to many people about where to stay in Nice. We stayed 4 nights and Hotel Suisse exceeded our expectations.

The staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful and this boutique hotel is in one of the best locations in Nice. The hotel is a perfect location for bars and restaurants in the old town and very close to the train station and many bus stops that take you to other key locations like Eze Village, Monaco, Villefranche sur Mer. We stayed in room 52 with a lovely balcony and had the most incredible view of the Mediterranean and Promenade. The room was well furnished, clean and spacious enough for two people. We would definitely recommend this charming hotel and hope to stay here again.

Regards from Chicago!

The location of this hotel could not be bettered. The view is fantastic and its right by the old town and market. The facilities were very clean and smart. Because of its location, the room can be noisy at night if the windows are open, however, I preferred this as you can also hear the sea.
Service wise it failed to come up to scratch, an early morning call I had requested came late, making me late for a meeting, also after asking for clarification of an address, I was directed to the wrong place. Not good.

So, i recommend it in terms of location, but for the price I paid, I would expect more attentive staff.

The hotel was clean, convenient, and perfect for our two-night stay in Nice. The views of the Mediterranean and the Promenade were exceptional. The only drawback was the traffic noise, but it quiets considerably in the evenings. Helpful and friendly staff. Thanks for the recommendation, Rick Steves!

We booked this hotel with high expectations. We quickly became disappointed. First of al, we drove around for over an hour in congested traffic trying to find a place to park. There is no parking on site, and no parking nearby the hotel. This was a big problem and we were very frustrated. Once we found parking in the middle of the city, we had to haul our luggage through throngs of people up the hill to the hotel. Once in the hotel, we wanted to find some food, and we were not excited about going back out into the heavy traffic and congestion to find food. To our disappointment there was no food in the hotel. So we had to leave and fight the crowds again. At 11:30pm we were laying in bed when a bunch of water splashed on us. The air conditioning unit locate above the bed, decided to malfunction and dump water on us. We turned off the unit hoping it would stop dripping water on us. It did not, it continued to drip water on our bed. So we called the front desk, the attendant came up and decided we could not stay in the room, which we already knew because who wants to sleep on a soaking wet bed? We paid for a top floor room with seaside view and large balcony. Now we had to switch rooms at 1220am down to the 3rd floor. This was much noisier with the heavy traffic below us. We had to get up at 0430am to catch an early flight out of town. Between the parking fiasco and the switching rooms in the middle of the night. I cannot recommend this property to anyone. We paid way too much money to have this kind of experience from a so called 4 star hotel.

I stayed here just for one night, it was an emergency booking made at the last minute as my original hotel booking had to be cancelled due to unsuitability for my needs. I couldn't believe my luck when the Tourist Info people got me a room in this hotel during one of the busiest weekends on the French Riviera. The price for a single room was very fair, the location is just stunning, sitting just above the Nice promenade with the best view ever across the Nice bay. The hotel décor is good - modern boutique style and has lots of extra little touches in the room which I liked. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful and made the whole experience very agreeable. I would like to treat myself to a return trip to one of the sea view rooms.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms look amazing but any room in this hotel are going to be good, no nasty surprises here...

I stayed at Hotel Suisse in August and it was wonderful. Make sure to book a sea view room! The rooms are average, but the view changes the room from average to superb! I believe this hotel has the best view of Nice. The hotel is not in the center of town, however it is only around a 20 minute walk, and the walk is nice since it is along the promenade. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to all friends!

Just returned from a 3 night stay with friends. Amazing views over Bay des Anges and perfect location for bars and restaurants in the old town. Opted to go out for breakfast as plenty of choice within a few minutes walk.
Rooms are nicely decorated and very clean and have balconies overlooking the beach. All get the afternoon sun so perfect for a break if you've been out during the day.
Be sure to rent a velo bleu for a few hours and do a circuit of the town including the full length of the promenade and into the harbour area - you'll be spoilt for choice for stop off points along the way.
Definitely a perfect base to explore both Nice and other great places along the coast in both directions.

Room Tip: Great views from all rooms so go for what your budgets will allow. Forget the added breakfast cost...
