Everything about this hotel was perfect. The staff was so friendly and spoke english well. Our stay was unexpectedly delayed 2 nights due to the volcano, and the staff were very understanding and did not charge for the last minute cancellation. Staff was more than willing to answer any questions and assist in any way. Our Traditional Room was amazing. It was small, but how much time do you spend hanging out in your hotel room? Bed was so comfortable, with nice big pillows. Our room had a little balcony that opened up to the most amazing view ever. The road below is noisy during the day, but the doors to the balcony were double glassed, so once closed the room was perfectly quiet. Room had mini fridge, AC, super clean, updated, modern bathroom, which was quite spacious. The safe was free to use as well. I cannot speak for the breakfast, we usually would walk into Old Town or Cours Saleya market area for breakfast. Free wifi in the lobby. Just returned and I'm already trying to figure out how we can get back!

We had organised to stay at Hotel Suisse after some great reviews on TripAdvisor. I opted for the upgrade to the Superior room hoping for a larger room with a view of the beautiful beaches of Nice.

Upon arrival, the receptionist was somewhat helpful, assisting us with parking, but when it came time to go up to the room, they informed us the elevator sometimes didn't work, so no more than 2 people or 1 person and luggage could use it at any given time. No further information or assistance was offered while we stood by the elevator unsure of it's safety.

5 flights of stairs later, we arrived in the room. The first impression is the smell of the room. It overcame both myself and my partner the minute we opened the door. It was a musty smell of mould, as if the room had not been aired out in a long time.

Opening out on the balcony, the view was spectacular and exactly what I'd hoped for.

The stay was quite uneventful, the room was comfortable except for the smell, the shower had mould between the tiles, but otherwise the room was somewhat clean.

Reception and breakfast staff were neither pleasant or helpful, it seemed any question or query was a chore. Breakfast was okay but the coffee was terrible.

The hotel is in a prime location and has loads of potential, however there needs to be a little overhaul of some of the services.

We selected this hotel mainly because it offers superb views along the coast and is close to the old town. We didn't regret it. The views from our room and from the breakfast room were magnificent. The room was quite small but recently refurbished, and very tastefully finished. It was comfortable and had everything we needed, was impeccably clean on arrival and maintained that way through our stay. Breakfast was very good, both in quality and choice, but quite pricey, so we only took it in the hotel on days when we were starting out early; there are plenty of cafes offering good breakfasts at much lower prices, within 10 minutes walk. Overall an excellent venue. There is noise from the road outside but the double glazing kept most of that out, and even with the windows wide open we did not find it a problem and we could still hear the waves rushing up the beach. Our one minor gripe was that we had no hot water on two mornings when we got up early, but it was hot within half an hour.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful! Room was quite small but it was VERY clean and modern. The bathroom was fairly spacious though. The views and location of this hotel are spectacular! The staff was also helpful and courteous. I would definitely stay here again!

I had read on trip advisor that the staff at the front desk was rude but I couldn't resist the location and view. The view was beautiful but the review was very accurate. I was appalled at the extreme rudeness of a young woman working the front desk. She spoke to me with complete hatred and condescension when having to assist me in any way. She looked at me with complete disgust and annoyance when I did not understand her directions the first time. It is unfortunate that someone has to live with such a bitter character.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Suisse after an absence of a few years. Since my last visit the rooms have had some soft goods renovations-new beds, mattress, flat screen tv and bathroom renovations. The french doors to the balcony have also been replaced with more sound proofed ones-so street noise somewhat lessened. Bathrooms also had some renovations. But the shower still gets water everywhere and there is some water damage already to the seal. But the real star is the location. Still superb room views. Not a luxury hotel. But very comfortable and friendly. I'll be back.

location very good just at the edge of the old town. Friendly staff all very pleasant. Opted for a privilege room on floor 5 - room was quite small by europen standards but was ok. The room was very comfortable lovely bed and all looked very new. View form the balcony is superb you can see the whole way down the prom - only thing is there is no real privacy between the small balcony's - only a few bars separating them. There is excellent sound insulation from the outside as soon as you open the balcony doors you can hear the sounds from the beach but as soon as you close them you hear nothing. My main problem with this hotel was the paper thin walls inside and the noise from the cleaners and banging doors which started at 7.30am every morning - it was soo noisy and i had ear plugs in! The doors slam really loudly and you literally hear everything. If getting up at 7.30 am every morning suits then this hotel would be fine but not for me and i would not stay again for this specific reason especially at €150 per night! The hot water broke down on our first morning but was fine for the rest of the trip. Pity about the internal noises as everything else was good. Nice itself is nice but i reckon 2 days is loads to see everything.
