“Great location near Promenade”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

Great location, but a decor carried over from maybe the eighties. When one is paying that well, one expects hotels to renovate once in every 10-15 years. Distance from the railway station is around 20 min walk. Rooms are small. Aircon doesn't start working till May. Staff is polite & helpful. Breakfast is adequate but average at best. But if it's location you are looking for; this property is up with the best. 2 min walk to the main part of the promenade. Lots & lots of eating option as soon as you get down. Close to the historic city centre. Recommended but not if you are having to pay very high.

Hotel de Suede is in a great location. There are shops, restaurants, bars and a small market nearby. It is about 10 minutes walk to Plaza Massena which is surrounded by more stores and a couple of parks. It is about15 minutes walk to Cours Saleya Market where one can find souvenir shops and eateries. Also close to the hotel is the bus stop with the #100 & #200 buses which can take you to Monte Carlo & Cannes. It is walkable to the beach-Promenade de Anglais and the casino too.The hotel staff were so patient with directions and very attentive to our needs. They were able to provide us with an electric kettle, cups and saucers for a 20 euro deposit. Our group of 4 ladies were satisfied and would definitely stay there again. Even the train station is about 20-30 minute walk depending on the amount of luggages. It goes without saying that the room was clean, enough space for 4 people with luggages and plenty of closet space plus a small safe. Overall, I would give Hotel de Suede a 5.

Great location, easy access to public transport, old town, trams, bus service to and from the airport. Staff very helpful on reception, rooms reasonable size, no real issues with the hotel. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment. Hotel gave 10%-20% off certain parts of the menu at the restaurant across the road, food good portions and we enjoyed the three meals we had there, had to ask for a voucher from the reception!
Trips we did we're a trip to Monte Carlo, Cannes, a trip to Entrevaux via train des Pignes, and lastly a trip out to Vence and Vence St. Paul.
Used the bus for all the outings bar the trip on the train to Entrevaux. At €1.50 each way on the bus very good value, but buy a card with ten trips this will only cost €1.00 even better value. Didn't use it to Cannes and for some reason couldn't use it for the return trip from Monte Carlo, but at €1.50 who could complain! When visiting Vence asked at tourist information could we walk to Vence St. Paul, yes gave us the route quite easy to walk very pleasant .
Tourist information were very good in Vence, where as the tourist office by the railway at nice was hard work, had to try and squeeze information out of them, wasn't easy they didn't seem to want to promote Nice!!!!!!
One draw back was the air conditioning didn't seem too efficient had it on for about an hour and it didn't seem to take the temperature down, would it been and issue later in the year when the weather is hotter?

Room Tip: We stayed in room 223 views over the road out front, some street noise early evening but wasn't...

We enjoyed a weekend break via a Britush Airways Sale at this very well located hotel. The staff were brilliantand very efficient , room very good and breakfasts good( especially the coffee and juice.).The only trouble was emergency plumbing was needed in part of the hotel with subsequent noise starting at 6am one morning .The coffeee machine in the breakfast room went kaput one morning too.Nevertheless, this hotel is a sound proposition

Room Tip: superior rooms best on level one: value is based on BA sale price, otherwise average. Sleep quality w...

If you happen to stay a couple of nights in Nice and wish to be close to the Promennade, to the old city and to the main shopping streets, and still pay a reasonable amount - take the Hotel Suede. The rooms are comfortable , the front desk personel are helpful and the breakfast is rich (as compared to similar hotels in the area).

De Suede is a nice hotel for a few days stay. My single room window was facing the wall, so even during the day I had to switch on the light, but I didn't have any street noise. The room was clean, had comfortable bed, the bathroom was modern, but with a very low shower which couldn't be moved higher. Very seldom in Nice - the price included good breakfast. The location is fantastic, close (5-10 minutes walk) to all the sights. And last but not least: the staff at the reception is very helpful and pleasant.

Stayed in this hotel in Feburary, booked with Gala hotels excellent price including breakfast (which can be difficult to find sometimes.)
Good selection for helpyourself breakfast... cereals, eggs bacon , fresh croissants, hams cheese yoghurts jams toast.
Room was clean, well decorated modern bathroom with shower over bath. fridge in room Handy location on easy bus route from airport close to sea front, one block back from the 2 easily identified mercure seafront hotels.
Our room overlooked a busy restaurant area so plenty of dining close by ( may be noisy in the summer months ?)
Would stay there again, hotel guests get a 20% discount on food at resturant Lorraine we took the 3 course menu option there one evening which we felt was very good value for Nice.

Room Tip: If there are rooms available over avenue Suede they might be quiter in the summer time? Fridge in r...
