“art and/or history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014

This museum is both art museum and history museum. The building itself is very impressive, floating in a small lake (architect Kenzo Tange) and the environment (Parc Phoenix) is beautiful with swimming swans (even it was raining during our visit). Items selected to the collection are very interesting. It's almost necessary to rent an audioguide (4 euros), but because the entrance is free, it did not cost too much. If you have to wait connecting flight for couple hours, you could consider to walk to this museum.

“Stylish but relatively few exhibits”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2014

This museum is set in a beautiful stylish new building right next to the Phoenix Park, so is best done as a combined visit. You can easily take the bus along the Promenade des Anglais or pick up one of the 'blue bikes' and cycle along the coast. Their collection is quite small so only has a few pieces form each of the countries represented, but they are well displayed. On Sunday afternoons, they offer authentic Japanese or Chinese tea ceremony for 10 euros per person. You can only book in advance on their website so, if you don't speak french, ask your hotel to do it for you. But it only takes about a dozen people, so do it well in advance if you are interested.

“Not worth the visit”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014

This museum is a joke, it's far from the centre so to get there you have to take a taxi or a car because the bus stop is very far from the museum. I'm quite familiar to far east art and this museum is poor and lousy, the second floor is a real joke: only 6 statues and nothing else.
Very, very disappointed.

“Interesting exhibition”

Not a big place but very interesting pieces of Asian art and history. Sadly, no information in English about the exposition.
