The hotel is located a bit far from the beach, but it takes about 20 mins to get to the city centre and only 10 mins from the station. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It's only 2 star hotel so I did not expect too much.

Stayed there one year ago, was OK. This summer made a reservation to come back... As I am arriving in Nice in the evening after a long trip I call to double check, they tell me I don't have a room anymore (at the last minute! And I had to call to find this out!). They arranged a stay for me in another hotel... I arrive at this alternative hotel to find out its a run down cheap motel. Thanks a lot!!!

Bonjour,

Stayed at this hotel recently as we visited the Monaco Grand Prix, an excellent place to stay. Not far from the tram line they run every 4 minutes to take you to the front or the station which saved us a fortune on taxi fares. Please note the trams do not run throughout the night so noise is not an issue.

A quiet B&B the lady who runs the small villa is very friendly and attentive. The decor is immaculate the only thing I would say is the beds are not that comfortable and we only had one pillow each which wasn't good for the neck!!!

I would definitely go back and for anybody visiting Nice it is an excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a typical french style room with a balcony and shutters.

This small family-style hotel is located uptown, about two kilometers from the beach, but close to the University of Nice campus. Adjectives that describe it include quiet, small (few rooms), rustic, and green (a cute garden with a few tables for reading the morning newspaper while sipping tea).

The rooms seem to be renovated, although the bathrooms are still small---the standard in this category of hotel in France. The wifi is free and good. The French breakfast is by definition minimalist---coffee, croissant, a piece of baguette, and an orange juice.

This small B&B is lovely and personable, the owner welcomed us and provided a great petit-déjuner each morning. Be sure to ask about the single free parking place on site. The house is lovely and the room was very well furnished and featured classic Nice-style French doors with ventilated shutters and a small balcony. The location is not downtown or near the beach but Nice is small in very walkable- you won't miss anything by staying here except the street noise from busier parts of town. Metro stop is 100m from the door.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have balconies and top floor rooms are under the eaves (attic). Be sure to inquire if...

Good location, near tram stop. Bed was a bit hard. No blanket was provided. Room was ok but it had a slight old musty smell. Service was quite good, gave all the information required. Don't really have anything else to say.

This place is really well situated in a quiet area, around the corner from a tram stop, small market area and cafes. Ideal.
Our first impression was via email and it was very good, we arrived late and were sent clear instructions as to what to do. A young guy checked us in, he was friendly and efficient. The room though, was really awful. Tiny, cramped, small double bed (but very comfortable one) terribly decorated but worst, the smell of stale cigarette smoke was nauseating . The air conditioning was noisy and didn't help with the smell so we ended up having to leave the window open all night in a vain attempt to create a breeze. This felt unsafe (ground level) and meant we could hear traffic noise, although as I said, it's not a busy road by any means.

Because of the ancient and badly matching deco the room looked dirty, but in fact it was actually very well cleaned. It was en suite, a bath / shower which was fine, had a flappy short curtain which barely sufficed and a wall hairdryer thing where you have to keep the button pressed down - you know the ones! They're fine.. you're hair is dry in seconds anyway in August heat.

It was late, and we were tired, and didn't want the hassle of trying to change so we decided to leave it until morning.
I approached who I think may have been the manageress the next morning to ask for a room with a bigger bed but more importantly one that didn't stink. I was told it didn't smell bad (!!) and that smoking isn't allowed (true, but all that means is that someone broke the rule, hardly the first time in human history). Anyway after much irritation she offered us a more expensive room upstairs, no 2 I think, and what a difference! Large, spacious, well decorated, clean smelling. Large kingsize bed that was very comfortable, quieter aircon, which we didn't need actually, as the window was higher up and so more useful, and a safe.

We were so relieved that we happily handed over the extra cash.
As we left to go out for the day the young guy rather sheepishly says

"sorry about the cigarette smoke".

We didn't eat there, but I think the breakfast was just coffee and croissants so you're better off to head to the market area or further in. Certainly if you're married to a coeliac it ain't going to work!!

The market is lovely and populated almost exclusively by cheery people who are selling divine food that is well priced - although do check - there is ONE fruit stall where the prices are almost twice everyone else's!

So yes, great location, the second room was lovely, the shower holder was broken and was fixed as soon as we mentioned it. So that was good.

But the lady of the house is rude.

Room Tip: Do NOT accept the room behind reception -either 12 or 18 if memory serves. Ask for an upstairs room.
