Owner description: This historic part of Nice feels like a medieval village with narrow streets curving between old buildings with red-tile roofs, small restaurants and open-markets.

Love the little alleys, quaint shops, cafes and bars and if course, the markets. You can explore for hours and then park yourself on a bar stool and enjoy a nice cool glass or two of vino while people-watching (which us always fascinating in Nice) and taking in the history of the place.

Cool out of the sun, an eclectic mix of tat and real craft goods, and some interesting food to be found. The Church of Jesus was very calm and had a beautiful baroque interior, and the buildings generally are great to see, many different architectural styles.

If you are in Nice on a Saturday morning, I highly recommend the walking tour that starts at the tourist information center. I learned more about the wonderful history of Nice than I could have ever read about. Beautiful Baroque churches to visit and look above the doorways to see dates of when the buildings were built.

It can get a bit busy, but it's not to be missed. Get lost in the maze of passageways, take in the aroma of food and toiletries and mostly, soak up the atmosphere.

Lots of Artisan shops, little alleys and bars. Lovely cathedral. Very busy. Nothing to dislike. Very good boulangeries and cafés
