This was the first time we had stayed here - having been recommended by family and friends. It exceeded all our expectations. We booked room 502 which had a huge balcony with an amazing view of the whole of the bay. Anyone staying here should certainly request a sea view room as the view from these rooms really is spectacular. Our room had all the amenities one would expect from a luxury hotel like this and the staff were both friendly and very helpful. The location of the hotel itself is unbeatable - within a few minutes walk of the Cours Saleya and the Promenade des Anglais. We used the dining room for breakfast which was excellent and also had dinner one night - a wonderful meal. Highly recommended as a superb hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view room - a must

A beautiful peaceful quiet escape surrounding a garden high up on the French Riviera coast
and just a stone's throw from lovely Old Town Nice with its century old flower market and classic European restaurants.

Room Tip: Our quiet room with a terrace faced the lovely garden

Its very rare that you stay in a hotel which surpasses your expectations. Once you come to terms with the rather odd lay out of this hotel, everything else is excellent and its location simply cannot be bettered, not only do you get stunning views but its within a few minutes walk from the old quarter of Nice and the lovely port. The staff were without exception very polite and helpful, food was of a high standard, rooms were very comfortable and the courtyard area was delightful. I would have no hesitation in staying in this hotel again, but next time i would pay the extra and have a sea view room. Great hotel, me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad when we checked out, but have vowed to return as soon as possible.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we had the best time. The view of the ocean was amazing and the room was clean and great. Everyone was so helpful and hospitable from my emails of organizing the details of our stay to the last day. well worth the price for our special occasion!

Don't be deceive by the small enterance into the hotel when you are there. The rooms are 6 floors up and upon reaching the floor the rooms are, the exclusivity feel sets in. The service is professional and if you drive, don't bother to look for a lot. Just drive to the enterance and the staff will valet for you.

We stayed for 3 nights at a garden view room. The room is decent and have most of the standard amenities you would expect from a 4 star hotel. But do note that for these rooms, you would have to walk through the restaurant to go to/from your room. The swimming pool is great, the view from the jacuzzi is fantastic. The gym is a tad too small though.

But what makes our stay good is the location, the food and the service. The hotel is just a minute walk from Old Nice, the famous pebble beach is just across the hotel, wharf is 3 minutes walk away. When you are there, make sure you stop by Le Patio for a meal. The breakfast is all organic and excellent. For dinner, I would give it a 5 star for taste and presentation. Last but not the least, the service (Catherine at Le Patio) is excellent and helpful.

The room price may be on the high side but if you are looking for a exclusive, luxurious place, this is THE hotel in Nice.

Room Tip: Ask for sea-view room. If you have money to splurge, go for the suites. We walked passed on the way...

We were allocated a small, odd-shaped (almost triangular) room with an external entrance accessed via the restaurant and some outside stairs. It smelt musty and damp. It was also quite dark, as a result of having high level windows and being overlooked by high buildings on either side. One of those buildings is an apartment block, with rusting steel mesh at the windows and apparently abandoned pending development. We were on a two-night break, and this was a big disappointment. I expressed this to reception - although they diplomatically didn't say anything, it was clear that they're familiar with such complaints about this and a few other rooms.
The hotel was full, and it was not possible to relocate us to another room until the next night. The room is totally unsuitable for hotel guests (unless perhaps a traveller on a tight budget). In my opinion, it is cynical and dishonest to allocate this room to full-paying guests, and without warning. Sorry for the strong words, but in my opinion they are fully justified. The only reason I gave two stars rather than one is that we were re-located to a better room for the second night.

Room Tip: When booking, be sure to make sure to stipulate that you don't want one of the "problem roo...

This is a lovely hotel, excellent location. Staff very accomodating and pleasant, wish we could have stayed longer. Great view if you pay extra for it. We did not get one of the rooms with the fabulous views (all booked) and frankly I was petrified they were going to put us in one of the rooms next to the "wall" that I have seen in past reviews that have no windows. Instead, the room they gave us was lovely; it had a small balcony and a slight view of the ocean and looked over the quaint little courtyard restaurant. It was our 25th wedding anniversary; we told the hotel this ahead of time and they kindly gave us a coupon for 2 free glasses of champagne at the little courtyard restaurant which is a pleasant place to hang out. The one downside was the bed which was extremely firm and not comfortable for us. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the action of the old town where there are lots of restaurants and shopping.
