The Hotel Perouse is perfect. The location could not be better - adjacent to the Boulevarde des Anglais. The rooms are smallish (with large bathrooms) but lovely, with balconies that (in my case) look out to the Mediterranean. The staff speaks English and are very helpful. Great restaurant in the hotel, wonderful pool. Best of all, it is a short walk to the Cours Selaya, one of the highlights of Nice.

Room Tip: See if you can get a room that looks out toward the Mediterranean - lovely to wake up to the sound o...

The hotel itself is beautiful. Very well located to the beach and town center. The room was very nice, our terrace overlooked the garden and the sea - fantastic view! The staff was extremely helpful and most spoke English which was great for us!

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It feels like it's hidden in the small mountain at the end of the beach. It's very unassuming from the outside. Super comfortable. The service is great - especially at Le Patio restaurant. The view is great. The pool is a nice and welcome refuge if you get overcome with tourists. The free wifi is slow and buggy, but the staff are helpful. Our only regret is not getting a room with a balcony over the restaurant/pool area, oh and a view of the Mediterranean. If and when we return to Nice, we would definitely stay here again. The food at Le Patio was fantastic and affordable. 2 thumbs up all around.

We chose this hotel from Trip Advisor Reviews. First holiday for a while with just my husband (no kids..!) This hotel is really interesting with great views of Nice. Situated in Old Nice.

On entering the hotel lobby you then have to take a few different lifts and go through an interesting maze of corridors to get into the heart of the hotel.

We had booked a superior double with sea view and initially we thought we had been given the wrong room as we didn't have a sea view from the room balcony which when we went out onto the balcony we realised that it did open out onto a large terrace with its own sunloungers and tables and chairs - so no need to go down to the pool for a lie in the sun - and of course it had a great view of the sea and Nice beach. (room 505)

The Staff were really helpful and gave us a list of recommended restaurants which we used after our first nights disasterous meal at Chez Freddies... We didn't eat at the hotel as we want to explore Nice. but we did have a drink at the bar every night and they do a mean Mojito!!

I would definitely stay there again when I go back to Nice so much nicer than the standard style hotel and the staff were really helpful

Room Tip: ask for a room nearer the top of the hotel with a sea view

I did a lot of homework to find this place. I originally was leaning towards some of the larger hotels like the Le Meridian or the Hyatt, but I am so glad we didn't stay there. Those places were a dump. Hotel La Perouse is a fantastic hotel. It's not cheap but moist great hotels are going to cost some money. The place is deceivingly HUGE. It is in a perfect location overlooking the long beach and right around the corner for the stairs to the fort on top of the mountain and the historic walking town. The front desk are professional but not all that friendly. The bell man took our bags to our room. Our room was ready which was just awesome having just arrived from the states onboard crappy Delta with cramped seats...but that is for another review. Our room, 106, was located right by the restaurant which is surrounded by orange and lemon trees. It is also right next to the pool. It had two singles pushed next to each other. Room as very clean. Has a mini bar. Bathroom was huge and nicely done in tile. Shower was one the most high pressure I have ever felt which was nice. The room also comes with some nice shampoo and body wash. It is not replenished daily. We even has a very small view of the Med which was a treat. You have a small patio with 2 chairs and a table. We had dinner there one night and the menu was enticing, service was ok, food was excellent and wine was very reasonable. We never spent more than 34 euro for wine while in Nice. You have to make the journey though the hotel to the room top deck some time while you are there. It is something our of "Get Smart". View are breathtaking. Take a walk up to the fort. Its stunning. They were doing some working the room next to up cutting tile but they always waited until about 9:30AM to get going which was fine with us since we wanted to get going for the day. I really recommend this place. The ONLY downside is the outrageous amount they charge for breakfast. Go into town and get something there to eat in the morning. I saw several stunned guests when they got their bill for breakfast. Shocked.

Room Tip: Clearly understand the breakfast price so you know what you are getting for it.

We have just spent 3 nights at La Perouse - lovely food, lovely room with balcony and amazing sea view and good, well equipped bathroom. Attention to detail. Great location - but you have to book a superior room with a sea view, preferably on the 3rd floor or higher. Although very close to everything going on in Nice the hotel itself is quiet and just a few minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle. Would love to go back.

Room Tip: You need to make sure you have a sea view - rooms at the side just look on to the cliffs and some ro...

Just a one night stay en route to Cap Ferrat. Arrived Sat night, big party all along the beach, with plenty of loud music, but Perouse is set back from the sea front and we could have tranquillity once we had tired of dancing!

Well appointed room with lovely bathroom and toiletries.
