Good location, quiet, good air conditioner in the room, complementary safe, clean, fresh linens and towels, nice bathroom, nice manager.
Very unfriendly front desk staff,
I booked the hotel online based on Rick Steves' Provence and the French Riviera book and when I asked for discount for that(I showed them my book), they refused.
Before leaving the hotel, they could not call the taxi to go to airport, instead they told us to take the bus the last minute.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Les Cigales. This is a very pleasant boutique hotel, situated only one or two blocks from the beach, lots of restaurants, and easy access to the Nice attractions.

The rooms are tastefully renovated, clean and comfortable, and the reception staff are friendlky and helpful.

We can recommend this hotel.

4 night stay in June 2013. Booked online based on Rick Steves' France 2013 book. Steves' got it right once again.

We arrived by car and were greeted by an enthusiastic and welcoming Mr. Valentino. He guided us to a temporary parking space in front of the hotel and helped us bring our luggage to our room. He guided us to a very convenient parking space next to the property (20 euros per day).

The room was very clean, bathroom had a tub. Location and staff were terrific.

Room Tip: Book parking space when you book the room as there are few. Breakfast was excellent and good value.

Clean, nice, quaint hotel in old town. Walking to all old town. Two blocks from beach (what they call a beach anyway). Our room was on the top floor with vaulted ceilings. Should have asked for a discount on that room. Bumped our heads a few times. Other than that the room was very nice. The shower stall was VERY small but bathrooms were nice other than that. Staff was friendly but did not go out of their way to greet you. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nice and wanted to say in old town.

Room Tip: If you are on the top floor...ask for a discount! We didn't and not sure if they would offer anyway.

Such a nice little hotel situated in a great central neigborhood. The only problem is the noise! The street in busy with many cars and people. The rooms are not sound proof so it's easy to hear other guests. Our room comfortable fit three people but based on other reviews, some rooms are uncomfortably small. Be aware of this when booking. If it bothers you try to book a larger room for more space. Breakfast is not included and costs 11€ but there are plenty of restaurants around. The hair dryer does not work well at all, bring your own if you need it. There is no coffee or hot water maker in the room either. Overall I would only recommend this hotel if you're staying in Nice for a few days and not interested in a luxury hotel. The price is ok for the central location. The only real concern that I have about this hotel is the constant noise at night. Bring ear plugs! Happy travels.
