The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room, on the top floor, was good but it was directly under the roof, so we could not stand on part of the room. Free wifi. At night they let me park in front of the hotel, because it's hard to find a place for parking in the street. Good location, walking distance to old city.

We had a wonderful experience five years ago at Hotel Les Cigales. Upon our return last month (march 2009), we were greeted by the same charming Mr. Valentino who adds to the sunny feeling of this charming hotel with the help of Mr Gilles who gives wonderful directions to restaurants and day trips.....
Hotel Les Cigales offers sunny rooms, a wonderful Breakfast, buffet style and lots of smiles. Thank you for making our stay wonderful and memorable. We will be back.

My friend and I stayed in this hotel in a whirlwind trip through Europe. This hotel was walking distance to the train station but it was a bit of a walk. The hotel was pretty quiet. The rooms were a bit small for the price. Also there is a local french restaurant nearby that the hotel recommends. It is quite wonderful!

My husband and I travelled with another couple, and it was my decision to stay at the Hotel Les Cigales. I was nervous, but booked this hotel using Tripadvisor as a guide. As stated in all of the reviews, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel was spotless. It is in a great location; 10-15 minute walk to the train and bus station, the pedestrian streets and Old Nice. Now for a reality check. We stayed on the first floor (not ground level) in the front… never, never do that unless you can sleep through a bomb. We asked to be moved but they didn't have any other rooms, and we were told, "it's a quiet street." The noise was ridiculous… garbage collection at 1am, street cleaners at 2 and delivery trucks at 6. Also the internal doors have to be slammed shut adding to the impossibility of a good night’s sleep. We did notice rooms in the back, off the court yard, it would be my recommendation to stay in one of those rooms.

This is a nice little hotel near to the seafront and local bars and restaurants.
The staff are friendly and don't mind being subjected to those of us learning French.
Our small double room (12) was at the front and was clean and comfortable although the walls were paper thin and we could hear everything from the rooms above and around us, and I mean everything! Fortunately I think we had a quiet spell as the rooms were only occupied for a couple of days.
We did not take breakfast at the hotel as there are so many cafes nearby which offer the same at a lower price.
We did enjoy our stay but would have to think long and hard about coming back, purely from the point of view of the noise. Everything else was fine.

Excellent small hotel, perfect location in a quite side street and central to the Bus and Train Stations(15-20 minutes walk ), and only two streets back from the promenade with restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk.I would advise airport transfer from terminal 1 via the 98 express bus service for 4 Euros (every 20 minutes) to Congress on the promenade, walk two streets down Congress turn left onto de la Buffa and first right into Rue Dalpozzo
and the hotel is on the right. The hotel is exceptionally clean with very friendly staff who responded to our every request, special thanks for arranging flowers/card/wine to be in our room on our arrival. The superior room was more than acceptable for our three night stay although we was disappointed that no facilities for making a hot drink were available, having said that reception would delivery coffee to the room on request without fuss.
This was our first visit to Nice and we really enjoyed ourselves in almost every respect, great hotel, lovely resort, nice area and fabulous weather unfortunately expensive drinks

  • Liked — Friendly and helpfull staff

I stayed at Hotel le Cigales for 3 nights in early October to attend business meetings in Nice. The Hotel is in a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle but only a short walk from the Promenade des Anglais. It is spotlessly clean and my room was fully fitted including hairdrier. Tthe staff are extremely courteous and couldn't be more helpful.
I would recommend the Hotel to adults wanting somewhere quiet and civilised for a long weekend break to explore Nice.
