The hotel has a great location only one block from the sea and only 2-3 blocks from the old quarter. We had 2 rooms, both of which were quiet and cool. The rooms are clean but not luxurious. The staff was very helpful and nice. I would return to the hotel.

I'd read mixed reviews of this hotel but a lot talked about the noise this hotel lets in and the lack of air con... they were right, we stayed there in June the weather was quite warm and because there was no air we had to open the windows which let in all the noise, traffic, music, people in the bar downstairs.

The room was a good size, the bathroom was old and didn't feel clean, The location was awesome and for the price which was a lot less than the hotel across the other side of the park it may have been ok.

The noise really runined it for us and for that reason I would not reccommend the hotel.
The decore was old and tired, when they spoke of Provincial styling I had wonderful thoughts but the decor was worn and not in that retro romantic way.

The front desk was helpful when we were trying to find our way around. close to the metro line which takes you right up to the train station, wish we'd known that when we arrived. Don't know about breakfast, I could smell it but couldn't find it.

Just footsteps from the beach, shopping, and a large aray of restaurants. If I'd been able to get a good nights sleep I'd recomend the hotel.

Stayed here for a romatic valentine's weekend with the hubby. I had previously stayed at the grand Le Meridien hotel opposite and can safely say that Albert Premier was extremely good value for money as it cost much less and was not that inferior to Le Meridien. It was also in the same central location that is close to markets, restaurant, the ocean, tourist hot spots. As it happened, the weekend we were there was also the weekend of the carnival and again, Albert's location was extremely prime as the parade ran through the street outside the hotel. There were several theme park equipment setup in the public gardens just outside for the carnival and the Albert offered premium views of these as well as the sea.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes - for the price and the location.

This hotel, as others have said, is all about location - 15 mins walk from the train station, or two tram stops, airport bus just outside the door. Convenient for the old town, beach and the infamous Gallerie Lafayette and grazing in Rue Massena.

Could do with a make over for sure and the lift was out of action for two consequetive nights, but we did get the high floor we asked for, a bath and a balcony.

Bed was comfortable, request for another pillow was ignored, breakfast too expensive, would I recommend the hotel? Yes!

Probably in full season it would be a nightmare, but be prepared to walk stairs and bring ear plugs!

I stayed at the Hotel Albert after making a last minute decision to switch from the Hotel Boscolo Plaza and I was not disappointed. I paid $89 USD a night and had requested a high floor with a sea view. When I arrived - I may have been the only person there, but needless to say I was put in room 607 - which must have been their best room, because it was amazing. The balcony was a wrap around with a view of all of Nice. From one end you see the town, from straight across you face the Hotel Boscolo, and from the other end you see the Meridien Hotel and the Med. sea, not to mention the beautiful garden right infront of you filled with palm trees!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bus 98 from the airport took 5 minutes to get to the hotel and drops you off right infront of the hotel. You are about 2 steps from the beach and from shopping and from the old city. It was perfect and was such a great rate for the room. I highly rec. this place. Also the weather in Nice couldnt have been nicer. It was sunny everyday and in the 50's / 60's. A little bit cold at night. This is their off season so it was nice not having any of the restaurants/stores crowded. All in all Hotel Albert gets 5 stars in my book!

Stayed two nights at Albert 1er in October. The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is roughly 2 minutes walk to the coast and also easy to get to from the airport. The bus stop is 30 seconds away if you catch the bus 98 from Nice Airport with a 4 euro day pass ticket. The main attractions are within easy walking distance especially the old town and hill viewpoint.

Initially, the hotel had not received our booking but fortunately were able to look it up and provide us with our room. The sea view rooms with balconies are very good with excellent views of the coast and airport runway in the distance.

Did not try the hotel breakfast, but was 11 euros each, seemed a bit pricey. The rooms were of a decent size with tv - only 2 English news channels, the rest European. Hairdryer and good shower/bath. I read a review about bed bugs and have to say that I did wake up on the second morning with attractive red itchy marks all over me.

All in all.....if you want cheap(ish) accommodation by the standards of the neighbouring hotels which are directly on the seafront, this is not a bad choice. It is literally just off the seafront. Staff very friendly. Definately opt for a seaview room on the top floor if you can.

If you expect the Ritz- dont stay here. But for the price, the location, and the view of the rooms- I highly recommend this place!!! $150-160/day when I booked it.

Location: cannot be better! 1 block from the Promendade de Anglais and the pebbled beach. 3 blocks from the famous Cours du Saleya (flower market by day and outdoor restaurant seating at night). 4- blocks to Old Ville. 1 block from Plaza de Massena, and 10 minute walk to the bus station if you want to take day trips to nearby cities such as Eze, Cannes, Anitbles, and Monaco (1 Euro one way each on the bus!)

The staff is VERY helpful and spoke English well! The front desk also can make currency conversion for you.

The room I stayed in was very big for European standard and accomodated 2 people very well. Request room no. 302 if you like my description. The room had a hallway that lead to 1 full bath with a bidet and a half bath with a western toilet. The water pressure in this room was the best in all my travels in France. The bathroom is outdated with blue tiles reminding me of the 80's. The bedroom had 2 queen size bed put together, a night stand, a dresser and wall mirror and a armoire for your clothes. The best part is the french door that opened to a balconnette that overlooks at the Jardin Albert 1er and had the view of the ocean on the left. You get ocean view without paying the price!!! And oh, there is a small tv attached to the wall with limited channels (but why waste watching tv if you are in NICE!)

The only negative thing that became an annuisance is the trouble with the only elevator. It only worked twice the entire week of my stay, but being on the 3rd floor helped for it didnt require a lot of stairs. The breakfast room is darling with windows opening to the garden across the street. There was a full time staff to wait on you. Great coffee and begneits but not a fan of the "fruit cocktail" and potted meat served.
