We certainly did not enjoy our stay in hotel baccarat. We are two young girls doing a europe trip and felt uncomfortable around the staff Especially this one guy possibly the owner. One time he was staring at the front of ny shirt for quite some time saying that he just wanted to read what is written on my shirt. Another time he wanted to take us by car into the old town which is just a 5 minute walk away. The central location near the train station and the free champagne are actually the only good things we found about that hostel.
When we arrived we checked into the 12-bed dorm, where our beds were not made until about 7pm. The next morning we woke up and saw a bed bug crawling over the pillow. According to mouth droppings in the hallways, we were not the only room
With bed bugs. The good thing was that we were upgraded to a twin bed room apparently the best room in the hotel. In exchange we were not to tell the other people in our room about the bed bugs, just telling them that there was a problem, which we ignored of course and told them the truth. The new room was not that much better though: ripped curtains, dirty showers, hair everywhere on our towels and bed sheets and we found a cherry in our drain. Dirty also described the kitchen. It felt like nobody knew how to clean. In a stack of plates i did not find one entirely clean plate. Pots and pans were mainly broken and 8 stoves were definetely not enough for the shared kitchen of two hostels.
We were just glad that we only booked two nights, because the hostel gave us a hard time enjoying Nice.
