“Ok for a day or two”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

This hotel wasn't all that great.
The rooms were tiny with two double beds in them, we couldn't fit all our suitcase comfortably. The shower was more a bath tub with a hose in it that doesn't stand anywhere.
It was ok for a couple of nights but I wouldn't spend too many days here.
However the receptionist was really lovely and made our stay better. She was polite and always helpful. Great service goes a long way!

This hotel is near to the train station and easy to find. The hotel is clean and when the windows are closed it is real quite. The rooms are not too big and the bath room is modern and good.
We stay here for one night and related to the price it is a good choose.

Very disappointed. The bathroom smells like sewage. On booking.com the room looked really nice. Everything is brown and bathroom very very small. Only bed cover and sheet. I was cold. Only one scabby pillow each with no spares. Wish i could move to better hotel but have already paid

My husband and I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of July 2013. From the airport we took the shuttle that dropped us by the train station. From the station we walked down one of the main streets and the hotel was there. It is located off one of the side streets in a dodgy area. There were a few little supermarkets close by and it was full of people drinking alcohol.
The room smells extremely bad (mold) and is very dark. There is a non existent view from the window.
2 nights at this hotel were more than enough. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone because it's expensive for what it is. The only good thing is it's close to the train station.
We didn't opt for the breakfast because there's a lot of restaurants close by. We bought packs of fresh croissants and pain au chocolats from Monoprix and there's also a Mc Donald's at the end of the street.
We had a lot of paninis in Nice during our stay, there's a little restaurants just 1 minute walk from the hotel.
We went to Carrefour Supermarket while we were there. It's at the tram station Vauban. It's located inside the mall and you can get a lot of groceries.
Tip: If you want to go to Monaco, take the train. It cost us 7 euros each for a return trip.

Our room and bathroom were very tiny. Staff were not very helpful. Someone knocked on our door, along with other doors on our foor in the early hours of the morning. Lack of power points. No view from the window Breakfast was non exsistant. Better to eat at one of the many restaurants in the mall, or overlooking the beach. Would not stay here again. Many more to choose from in this beautiful city.

Room Tip: Not sure if this hotel had any good rooms!

We had been on a single night trip to Nice, and had booked this hotel via venere.com. The hotel seemed to have good reviews, so I assumed that it would be good for us. We drove from Marseille to Nice and reached Nice around 9:00 PM. The neighbourhood in which this hotel is located did not look terribly safe in the dark. There was a 'S*x, s*x, s*x' sign in neon nearby. The folks hanging around the neighbourhood did nothing to boost my confidence. Parking was non-existent - unless you do as they do in France - park halfway on the sidewalk. After checking in, we ate dinner at the nearby Madhura Indian restaurant (being Indians and vegetarians, we naturally gravitated to this restaurant). Parking, as the desk clerk at the hotel told us, is best done at the nearby rail station. And remember to park via the UNDERGROUND passage (the other parking lot at the train station is for the kiss-and-ride customers - and charges something like 4 euros per hour). I discovered this the hard way after the desk clerk looked at the parking ticket and remarked that I had to repark.

The desk clerk was decent. He spoke English, said that they were booked solid and simply could not entertain the idea of us checking out a little later. We had planned on going to the beach, splashing around a bit and returning to take a shower. This nixed the idea. He did give us a map and indicated the areas we could visit as tourists.

Some features of this hotel:
1) It has an elevator to get you to your room (I have read of other hotels with no elevators - hence this statement).
2) Room looked nice - but the furniture consisted of 2 double beds on which 2 people could sleep comfortably, 3 LEK tables from IKEA, a side-table, a small single sofa and a fan.
3) There is air conditioning - but it takes a few hours to cool the room. Our room, being next to the roof, may have had less insulation than most.
4) The view outside the windows were - of other roofs, TV antennas, etc. Nary a street to see.
5) The bath room was a pleasure to use. Water was plentiful, the force was good and the shower stall allowed me to reach my back without going through yoga positions. The shower also closed completely allowing one to shower with abandon (unlike the European penchant for half open shower stalls - who the hell thought up the idea?
6) Flooring itself was faux hardwood. It should have made for less dust - but there seemed to be a lot of dust in the room.
7) There were at least 4 extra power outlets - which is unusual for a hotel room!
8) Breakfast at the hotel was good - make sure that you choose this option. It was plentiful and seemed to be tuned to international audiences.

Overall, I would be careful before booking this hotel - look around before settling on this one.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 560 on the fifth floor - it was terrible. It is a large looking room, with usable space b...

Spent one week here due to its proximity to the Train station and the excellent Chagall Museum. We then spent a second week @ the Mercure Nice Marche aux Fleurs on the Promenade des Anglais to be near the beach. Thus, our average nights stay was under $150.00. Everyone at the front desk spoke perfectly good English and they were all perfect host. The neighborhood was not the best, and men were drinking beer in front of a store a few doors down during the day. After all, Nice is a big city. Nothing to fear though; just say "Pardon" or nothing and walk on by. The rooms were fine, ours had French balcony, and I think the price of less than $100.00 per night was great. Still, just a mile from the beach, which we walked often. Note; at the train station, one can get an espresso and a croissant for 2 Euros until 11:00 AM. And the post office nearby has change machines for Euro coins to buy train tickets. Take short train rides to Monaco, Antibes, Cannes, San Tropez, and Villefranche-sur-Mer (my favorite). Although the bus is better to Villefranche-sur-Mer because of the scenic drive. We just loved Nice...
