went to the palais last june for 5 nights.
what a fantastic experience.
from our check-in (when we were given a personal tour of the hotel by one of the lady receptionists,) to the help and courtesy we received through-out our stay, we cannot fault this hotel.
we got a great deal on-line which included breakfast and could have made up the cost of the holiday with what we could eat !
if you prefer, breakfast is served on your terrace at no additional cost.
rooms are glorious, although we had no sea view we had a fantastic view of the mountains.
pool area is smallish and does not get an awful lot of sun but is fine for a leisurely dip before breakfast.
location, none better near to everything.
we filled in the questionaire in our room prior to check-out and received a lovely reply when we got home.

one hint....hunt around to get the best deal we found a huge differences in prices and deals offered
if you want to feel really spoiled , but not overwhelmed do visit the palais

We booked two nights in the hotel as a short weekend break, the airport is only 10 mins by taxi (although £20 is a bit pricey).

On arrival we were told the room wouldn’t be ready until 2pm which was fine, on returning at 2pm we were told due to over booking we would be upgraded to a suite!

I have never seen a room like it, three bathrooms, massive bed, lounge and dining room, two TV's and a walk in wardrobe!!

The room was obviously a bit of luck but the whole hotel and the staff were first class. Fluent English, polite and helpful.

Nice itself is classy, safe and full of great places to eat. When you leave the hotel at night turn left as this is where most of the bars and restaurants are.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and through a bit of good fortune its the best hotel room I have ever stayed in!!!

we stayed at this hotel at the end of april/beginning of may, having, like other reviewers been influenced by tripadvisor, because we know how good you guys are at giving advice.

i have got to say that i am left speechless and quite baffled by the negative reviews posted recently... especially about "gregory" who checked us into the hotel and could not have been more helpful or professional. we saw him most days during our stay and we always had a "bonjour"/smile from him on passing though the hotel foyer. our room was beautiful, separate toilet, bathroom with bath/shower and massive corner shower stall as well! huge bed, and balcony with sea view.
this hotel performed on all levels, a varied, fresh and filling breakfast, all public areas were clean, housekeeping excellent and i honestly couldnt find fault with anything.

please dont be put off by some of the comments here, this hotel is so worth a visit, as is Nice itself, and the only thing i can say is...........If you ask an "oi" question you often get an "oi" answer.

We stayed at the Palais de la M for the long Easter weekend with our 19 mth old and I have to say they were fantastic. The rooms were well equipped, clean and spacious, lovely big bathrooms etc. They provided an extra large, extremely comfy cot for our daughter and changed her bedding daily. The cot also included a gorgeous soft monkey in a beautiful bag on the first night as a gift to her (she hasn't put it down yet!). The restaurant was also exceptional with her and when we asked for the children's menu we were told they would cook anything we wanted and that's exactly what they did and she loved it.
It's in a great location, the staff and very helpful, breakfasts are great and super child friendly. We will be going back...

We had 4 idyllic days in Nice staying at this hotel. We booked through Airline Network & got a fabulous deal & our room, although it looked out over the mountains, provided us with fantastic views whilst sitting on our balcony. We visited mid April & the weather was fantastic which meant we could sit out on the lovely balcony for drinks & even breakfast one morning. When we phoned down for ice for our 'own' bottle of wine, room service promptly brought up ice with glasses & offered to open the bottle for us - a first for us! That's what I call service.

The room was very modern, spacious & extremely comfortable. Hotel staff were very pleasant & helpful. Dining outside for breakfast was a real plus.

We visited Cannes & Monte Carlo by train which were also fantastic but really loved the superb cafes & restaurant within minutes of the hotel. We also found a fabulous cheese restaurant for dinner in the old town which was another fantastic experience.

We've been meaning to do Nice for a long time & finally got round to it this year & we'll be back very soon. The hotel itself contributed
greatly to our experience & we would really suggest people stay here if they are planning to visit.

Great location, fantastic hotel & superb eating out. WOW!

Booked 2 rooms at the Palais de le Mediterranee for a business trip and family get together. The hotel only allows one child per room, so we asked for adjoining rooms with one child bed in each room. We were given written confirmation that this would be no problem and given price of rooms in advance. When we arrived they only had one room reserved and we were told that they originally did have us down for 2 rooms but one had been cancelled by a clerk that was off for a few days. They had no idea why she had done this, but said there was nothing they could do and that the hotel was booked solid and they did not have another room. After refusing to leave until we spoke to the manager we were advised that he was not in, but they did manage to find us another room. Not only were our rooms not adjoining but they were on totally different floors, which we were able to make do, but certainly not what we had reserved. Too top things off, the price for the second room was not what was quoted in writing. The hotel refused to take responsiblity for cancelling one of the rooms and therefore charged an addition 110 euro for the second room. This was a 3 day stay and although we tried repeatly to speak to the manager, he was never available. We have written letters to the hotel and gotten nowhere.

On the positive side the rooms were very nice and a good size for Europe. The location is excellent and the common areas of the hotel were beautiful. But none of this made up for the way we were treated and the mixup with our reservations.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Palais. We had booked 3 deluxe sea facing rooms for a family celebration but were allocated only 2 rooms sea facing and one to the side. The sea facing rooms were on corners of the building, were quite small -at least 6 feet shorter than those alongside and there was no separate shower only a hand held telephone shower attachment with an inadequate screen which left the floor flooded. Reception tried to convince us that the rooms were all the same category despite a considerable price difference for side view rooms. Although initially offering to find us better rooms this did not happen and we were palmed off with a complimentary cocktail each. Breakfast was like a scrum some mornings as we struggled to find a glass for juice or even a croissant before they ran out.
The Palais is on a fantastic site near the Old Town and overlooking the Promenade des Anglais but we were very disappointed that the rooms we had were not all sea facing and certainly not deluxe.
