Programs include the Market tour, Cooking Class and Lunch, the Private Nice Street Food Tour, Provençal Macarons, the Choux Pastry Masterclass, and Vegetarian and Organic cooking. “A Great Day with Great Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

We spent a lovely day touring Nice with Rosa's associate Hannah. If you want to get a true feel fore Nicoise culture and food, there is no better way to see it. Hannah took us to her favorite outdoor markets, cheese store (my favorite) and to a lovely lunch at one of the best restaurants in the city. Time well spent for sure.

“Delicious fun from start to finish”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

We enjoyed a very memorable morning with Rosa Jackson's associate Hannah on the Nice Street Food Tour. Charming and knowledgeable, Hannah graciously escorted us (both on foot and via tram) to a series of great shops and vendors, from the outdoor markets at both Cours Saleya and Libération, to her favorite confectionery, cheese monger, olive oil maven, socca place, and more, sampling and nibbling all the way. We wound up the tour at the highly regarded Bistrot Antoine, where we shared a brilliant lunch. This wide-ranging yet incisive culinary experience is something we never could have managed on our own, plus Hannah's smiling company and insider knowledge were pure delight. We sincerely recommend this diverse and delicious excursion to fellow food lovers.

“Extrordinary day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014

It needs to be said that Rosa Jackson's market tour & cooking class is a MUST to do in Nice! Not only is the market tour informative but really enjoyable too. But the best part is spending the day in Rosa's lovely old town apartment and really learning the recipes and cooking techniques used in the local cuisine. Rosa is patient and answers even the most inane questions with a smile and is a wonderful cooking instructor. I will absolutely recommend spending the day with Rosa to anyone going to Nice. It was the best day of my time there!

“Time well spent”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

In the off - season finding any cooking experience in Nice was difficult but after searching Les Petit Farci popped up and it turned out to be a very worthwhile experience. Combining a tour of the market with Rosa's very explicit descriptions and willingness to answer questions with the meal prep and dining experience in her residence was a fine formula. Rosa the person is well versed in all phases of produce and fruit as well as the herbs, cheeses and wines that all are involved in the complexity of the ultimate endeavor. In my case, I joined two sessions and benefited greatly from both even to the extent of touring the market on both occasions. In the first, there were three other "chefs de cuisine" in the second, five. Because space in her kitchen/prep/dining area is limited, the larger group was more difficult to involve. Rosa tends to involve her class in the preparation of meal ingredients up to the point of the final steps - cooking. That she did in both classes I attended. This she likely does due to the lack of space in her very efficient kitchen. Start to finish from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Rosa is both professional and charming; both characteristics that make Les Petits Farcis well worth the Niceoise experience.

Thank you for the great feedback, I'm very glad that you enjoyed both of the market tours and classes that you attended. Because we prepare a number of dishes during the class, it may happen that my assistant or I might be stirring a pot or checking something in the oven while people work on the next dish, but I have taken note of your comment and am making sure to involve students as much as possible at the stove (something that I always do anyway when there is a particular technique involved). Many students have commented that they have rarely attended a class that is so hands-on, and it is very important to me to ensure that everyone participates in the preparation of each dish. Once again, I'm happy that you benefited from your experience and thank you for recommending my classes on Tripadvisor!

“Rosa Jackson, food guide extrordinaire”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2013

Others have described the format (market tour, prepare food, eat food all with a running commentary) of a day with Rosa Jackson at Les Petits Farcis, the gastronomy tourism business she runs from her stylish apartment in vieux Nice. I cannot recommend it highly enough but a few aspects made the day for me. First and foremost, Rosa has an exceptional knowledge of cuisine; she is a cordon bleu chef and was Paris restaurant critic for Time Out magazine for many years. This combined with an effortless delivery and Rosa's easy going nature makes her the perfect host for such an event. The location of Les Petits Farcis in the centre of old Nice with access to the Cours Saleya market and high class food shops means that the quality of the ingredients used during the day is first class. Last but not least, we prepared our meal in Rosa's own kitchen which personalised the event and helped create a wonderful ambience between the attendees of the course.

The menu:

Artichokes cooked in white wine
Chiken 'bouillabaisse'
Fig tart

Socca (the Nicoise gallete served as a mid-morning snack)

Selection of Provence wines

If you are looking for such an event in Nice, choose Les Petits Farcis, you will not regret it!
