Description: After working for prestigious etablishment like The Ritz and Fauchon at Paris and the Sketch in London, the chef Louis Dubois decided to open with his girlfriend their own restaurant. This is a french restaurant working with fresh and seasonal foods. The menu change every month. In addition, you can get a set menu for lunch at 17€ and a dish of the day at 12€. It's located in the city center, 7 minutes by walk from the promenade des Anglais. We can reserved the restaurant for some groups from 12 people to 30 from Monday to Thursday and from 20 people during the week end.

Wonderful 3 courses, the Beef Vintage was excellent and the desserts very really good. Once inside the atmosphere is modern and for my taste a bit more cozy would be great. The service is very friendly and so is the chef, who regularly walks by and checks that everything is fine. The desserts last saturday were fine, as said, but the type are very common in France: Lemon tarte, brownie with creme anglais, chocolate cake. I would wish for something more unusual.

A very busy lunchtime restaurant frequented by locals. For a Thursday at 1100 am almost all the tables were already booked but we managed to get the last one.The 16.50 e menu, a good Plat de Jour, quality Dessert, plus a glass of wine or a coffee. All excellently prepared and presented food. The staff consists of a delightful young woman who speaks English and runs the front of house, together with a pleasant and able young Chef with a young trainee assisting, who between them deliver a quality lunchtime treat.

We eat hear last night and were delighted with the food, friendliness of the staff and atmosphere. We chose to eat what the table next to us had as it looked so good and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to eat in Nice.

An event we were attending necessitated an early lunch so we thought we'd give Pastry Plaisirs a go and we are ever so happy we did! We got a little bit lost, so if you are trying to find it - from Place Garibaldi go under the Museum of Modern Art, take a left and then take a right. The restaurant is on the second block on the left.

As I said we were very early for lunch (12:00) and judging from the reserved signs on the tables it was just as well we were as the place filled up quite quickly after we had bagged one of the few remaining free tables. I opted for the formule (the set lunch of the day) which included the plat du jour/special of the day, my choice of dessert and a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. At €16 this was excellent value.

H had the scallops on a bed of risotto and pronounced some of the best ever had. The special was a fish called "sabre" (my French nor the chef's English was quite good enough to find out to find out what it was) with a white wine sauce on a bed of peas and carrots. The bread was also a triumph, some of the best we've ever had in France. And that is saying something!

We both went for the strawberries and cream concoction for dessert and it was divine. Service was lovely and warm and not overly fussy. We wish we could have lingered longer, but work called. Next time we are in Nice we will pop in again.

Our bill came to 48.50, including an extra glass of wine for H. and a bottle of sparkling water. Pastry Plaisirs opens Monday-Friday for lunch and Friday-Saturday for dinner too. Don't miss out!

Delicious food and great service - don't miss this treat! We visited Pastry Plaisirs twice in one week. The first time, we were running late for lunch after visiting a museum and getting lost. Most places had stopped serving lunch and we were hungry and tired, but Pastry Plaisirs' lovely staff came to the rescue with delicious salads, wine, coffee and homemade dessert. We enjoyed the meal and the friendly atmosphere so much, we made time for another visit before we left Nice. Definitely on our list of places to return to!
